I hate to even go down this road of pretending anything from that graph is real life, at all, but...if a two month timeframe, in which the first month had very few covid deaths, saw literally a ~30% increase in total deaths...that's a lot.

I'm pretty sure there is a reason there are no numbers or sources given for any specific data related to that graph

How it is possible to have 'normal' deaths be approx 16,000 in given period over a 4 year run and during covid, these 'nomal' deaths are now only 1/4 or 4000?

There is strong incentive for hospitals to report deaths as covid
due to a provision in the CARES act which the govt gives a 20% add-on for medicare patients and covid. This is a 100billion fund.

With the drop in hospital revenue, there is strong motivation to keep revenues up.

While I am not suggesting every death is overreported, imagine if the 'avg' deaths were the same this would make a 75% overreporting of covid deaths. IF...IF this can be applied across the board, that would put true covid deaths at less than an average flu season.

I am not sure anyone really knows.....But there is sure something fishy about these numbers.

But if they averaged 16,000-17,000 deaths for those other causes over a previous 5 yr period then you could state Covid was responsible for 4,000-5,000 deaths and not the astronomical numbers that have been floated around. And it's not just New York state that's seeing those same mysterious drops in all other deaths.

Problem is hospitals are motivated to list deaths as covid because they get more money. The gvt through the CARES act gave hospitals automatic reimbursement for any covid death and paid a 20% perimum to any care given. This could mean from an extra 20,000-50,000 in AUTOMATIC govt reimbursement for care though the 100billion dollar fund created. All you need to do is classify the death covid. So guy with no insurance comes in and dies of heart attack. The hospital can get nothing, or 40,000. Which box do you think they are checking?

Stuff is not adding up. Be interesting to do an audit nation wide comparing 'average' deaths from april to july of say the past 5 years and compare them to our 'average' NON-COVID deaths seen this year over the same time period. My guess is covid deaths are being greatly over-reported.

Just lol if you think a cloth mask is going to do anything against a virus. It's simple physics people. Even the N95 mask is only effective against particulates that are 4 microns or LARGER..the CV viron is 1/10 of ONE micron. Your mask will have no effect on you or anyone else. My post contained three sentences, all of which ended with this: ? You understand what that means, yes? The first question is a valid question. The second question is based off of the common understanding that the virus is spread from an infected person through respiratory droplets. The last question was a joke based off of the fact that some believe that the virus is airborne.

There are also people that think the virus has magical properties with the ability to move through solid objects. Some believe the virus doesn't actually exist.

Agree. Was citing recent study on mask effectiveness which showed it reduced projection of particulates from as much as 10' down to 12-18". Great for particulates which fall to ground fairly quickly.

The interesting thing was face shields were equally as effective unless wearer was significantly above others. Short people get shafted again!
