    Its working for Sweeden.

They did nothing and while all of europe is getting the second wave, their rates of new infections have been dropping. 60+% in last few week.

Now people will say they had a higher death rate (#5 of developed countries) but they admitted they did make one mistake. They did not treat 'high risk' patients and just sent them home figuring their hospital beds would be over run. That never happened, so people who could have been treated in a hospital setting did not get treatment. Hence higher death rates initially

But long story short. No shut down, and they are coming out of Covid while the rest of the world flails in it.

You should look into what the Swedes actually did in the early stages when others were 'shutting down'.

Hint: They basically did the same thing, they just didn't require government mandates to make it happen

Also, Sweden is officially #8 in the world in per capita deaths right now

I predicted this response, which is why I explained their higher death rates which they also admit now could have been lower.

They were just predicting a giant overflow which never happened so many people just got sent home with no treatment if they were high risk.

I have read what they did. No shut down, no limits on public gatherings or restaurants/ bars. Just asked people to use some common sense and finding out now that while many suffered massive economic damage, they are coming out OK.

Apparently, you haven't. I'm not referring to what the government told people to do, or not. I am referring to what the people actually did, regardless of whether or not it was ordered by the government. They pretty much did exactly the same 'quarantining' as the countries that 'shut down'

Yes, it hurt their economy too and a lot of restaurants etc. went out of business.

Next door Finland has a whopping 331 deaths from 329 that it was the longest time. I kept checking and it just stayed the same.

Also my friend said movie theaters and all the businesses are open now in Finland, and there were no extra government stimulus checks nor unemployment.

Sweden has ten million people, Finland like almost six so small countries both.

I don't even care what they decide to do. Finland closed everything down, seems to be doing fine, Sweden was open and seems to be okay. Whatever stategy was used, they planned it and executed it.

Here we have close, open, close, open. The governors are just making some random decisions that keep changing, and we don't ever seem to be going back to work.

    Finally good news.

Two doses of Moderna's coronavirus vaccine protected mice from infection for 13 WEEKS - and a single shot blocked the virus for 7 week
Moderna's vaccine tricks the body into producing some of the viral proteins, which the immune system recognizes and builds a response against mice
Researchers gave mice two intramuscular doses, one-microgram each, three weeks apart
The rodents were exposed to the virus five weeks and 13 weeks after the second injection, but didn't get sick either time
After mice were given just one dose, and then exposed to the virus seven weeks later, they still didn't fall ill

sums it up a thread will start off promising and then turn into name calling..

Be careful of daily mail, the journalism often very shaky. It's a quick rehash of fox news and syndicated articles. Notice they are discussing covid19 (SARS COV2) but included a graph for MERS 5-2P with no explanation of why the difference

    Apologies Everyone
I bumped the thread with what I thought was a silly post and link for comedy value (above)
I didn't intend to pick the scab off this, and restart the whole mask argument again
I promise not to do it again

Can we go back to those happier pre covid days and mention exercise in some shape or other

Love how you say one source is nothing but garbage, and then go on to post some random youtube vid and an article from 4 months ago that says

"First, to understand why masks could be helpful at blocking SARS-CoV-2 transmission, it’s important to understand how the coronavirus is transmitted. And, frankly, we still don’t know all the answers to this question."

    Great supportive research

Wearing a 'cloth' (non-n95) mask is probably better than nothing, but about the same effectiveness as wearing a clear face sheild. It prevents you from spitting on other people. Masks really dont do much, but in cases where social distancing is not possible, it is shortening the travel of a cough from as much as 10' down to 12-24" (and those heavy particles fall to the ground.

Does ZERO on either end for aerosolized transmission which is becoming one of the ways that it is being looked into more and more. Hence the higher risk of transmission indoors.

If you want support.....here you go.

Love how you completely discredit pretty much every scholarly, professional, expert, peer reviewed, actual-science source just-because you feel like it.

Oh no! 4 months old?! There's no way masks or face coverings work the same now as they did four months ago!

Besides, who the hell is nature anyway? Not like they ever have anything correct...

Son, those are the inner-circle, I’d prefer not to, I’ve done well so far by not.

However I’m not saying that joining the inner-circle and surviving it won’t reap a safe life.

I went to the barber today, appointment only and door is locked until you arrive. Had the curtains closed and cardboard taped over the door window. I was thinking that was odd until some of my hair fell into my mask. He's wearing a mask and facesheild and just said "dude you can take off your mask, that's why the curtains are closed." LOL like some speakeasy Barber chit. I took it off long enough to get my hair out of it at least and tipped 40%
