OSA, depression, anxiety, change in lifestyle, poor diet, nutritional deficiencies, etc etc

If you are finding your lifestyle to be suboptimal rn (sleep, diet, exercise) i would encourage to address those first then reassess. If after those no change could be reasonable to consider OSA. Obv if other symptoms you should be discussing these with your dr

Potentially sleep apnea? Try to get a psych referral from your PCP. You may have generalized anxiety disorder, depression and/or ADD/ADHD. Lack of motivation/tiredness is often associated with all the above and sometimes the "sleepiness" is due to a lack of dopamine and/or poor prefrontal cortex blood circulation (ADHD).

edit: ok well that's why brah lol try your best to improve your sleep quality. If you're finding it difficult to sleep because you're staying up super late or sleep is "boring" to you then I still suggest talking to a psych. Trust me.

look into GABA, L-theanine, L-tryptophan, 5-HTP, Ashwaganda and CBD. Go to a respected apothecary/hollistic pharmacy before you try any Rx's but this wont help you if you do have sleep apnea. If you have obstructive sleep apnea, then losing weight (if you are heavy) may help. SOme people have huge tonsils and adenoids that need to be removed to help their snoring and apnea. But mostly people need a CPAP/BiPAP machine. I have obstructive sleep apnea myself but it mostly only bothers me when i'm a fat fukking POS

    Good call.

-Also, if you exercise, do it first thing in the AM. Testosterone is highest then and there is no chance of it keeping you awake (because exercise is a stimulant).
-You can also consider the carnivore diet. I started sleeping much better when i got adjusted to it. If you do decide to do it though, do your research before hand on the do's and dont's of the diet. I did it HORRIBLY wrong and paid the price. But you could really benefit from gutting out added sugar all together and cutting out stimulants after say 5 pm. Caffeine has a pretty long half life i think
-Do you get dizzy or get heart palpitations when you stand up fast? This is a symptom of Iron deficiency anemia. Start eating more red meat and iron rich veggies or take a iron supplement (ferrous fumarate, ferrous sulfate, and ferrous gluconate are the easiest to absorb). But dont take them UNLESS you are anemic in iron or else you risk heavy metal poisoning
    -Stay hydrated
-Set a sleep schedule and stick to it. Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day
-Install blue light filters on your mobile and computer. Blue light stimulates the brain and only want that when you need to be awake, not when you want to sleep
-Stay out of bed unless you are sleeping or laying pipe. If you hang out in bed to read or watch tv or something, your body will stop associating bed with sleep
-Do something prior to going to bed to calm yourself. Meditation (hippy tree hugger crap, but it actually works but you have to actually try and keep working at it. Ironmanlet can tell you), warm bath, read a book, listen to guided sleep meditation apps etc
-When you wake up, turn the lights on (to help wake you up), drink some coffee, eat an apple, or get into some sunlight (the UV light will help wake you up

Most of these will only help if your problem isnt a medical one and if say, your problem is that you are spending too much time in bed or something small

I will get my sleep diet and exercise on a leash first then.

What’s a good timeframe to give all this before reevaluating?

I study medicine and I was diagnosed with ADD/ADHD about a year ago. I spent a lot of time researching my diagnoses and getting as much info as possible before committing to any change. It was life changing (for the better) and put a lot of things into perspective (ex. my prior lack of motivation and drive to do things or staying up super late hours of the night). I was like you, constantly tired, always zoning out in conversations and never 100% present in the moment. Just my experience though.

edit: like you in that I was constantly tired, not sure if you zone out lol

    Lotsa doctor brahs in here.

I’ll give you a thorough evaluation but I need to see your insurance first.

Anemia (iron deficiency most common if poor diet)
    Depression
    Increased Anxiety/Stress
    Poor sleep hygiene
    Electrolyte imbalance
    Hypothyroidism
    Circadian rhythm sleep disorder
    Medication overuse
    Sleep apnea
Pickwickian syndrome cuz you’re a fat phuk
    Drug use

    That’ll be 280 please

If you were to present right now, stress/anxiety/depression most likely, less likely anemia or hypothyroidism cuz would’ve been picked up on routine evaluation labs. Sleep apnea even less likely unless someone in your family who isn’t overweight has had it.

Most likely treatment: tincture of time

Yup, meds which I take 5 days a week with weekends off to prevent/minimize tolerance development. Was part of the remedy for the ADHD but it's not a quick fix. Poor life long habits are difficult to break and take time to change (again such as staying up late, putting off tasks, etc) and the meds just helps me do the things that need to get done by increasing prefrontal blood circulation/flow and stimulating the reward pathways. What a 'neurotypical' person finds easy to do (make their bed or put away the dishes) is much more difficult for someone with ADD, so you may find yourself feeling demotivated constantly or tired because just doing several basic tasks takes more effort out of you.

Anyways, just my experience and .02 man. I hope you're able to get whatever help you need and figure this out. Best of luck
