I don't buy chicken from China. They clip off the beaks, put them in tiny cages and that is how they live till they are slaughtered. I am never going anywhere close to vegetarian, never mind vegan, but I an't supporting sht like that.

So far, I just get free range meat, locally. Educate me on how to do better.....without telling to not eat chicken, beef, pork.

"Free range meat" is a scam...

1.) because red meat is delicious
2.) Red meat is very nutrient dense
3.) Plus, even though I know that there are inhumane methods in the meat world, at the end of the day, the meat is already packed, and on the shelf. If I don't eat it, someone else will. Me not eating meat isn't going to stop production.

You have a point. I am exiting from it. Even more so than I already have. I an't rich, but I really don't agree with it. And the someone else excuse doesn't work for me.

edit: not exiting from eating chicken beef and pork.

I grew up on a farm and raised my own beef, shot rabbits, 'roos as required.
Always humanely and only if needed.
I believe modern farming practices should provide a great life for animals. Always free range, lots of care etc, no cruel practices, and then they just have 'one bad day'.
That being said, I also have regular meat free meals - and eat lots of fresh produce.
Can always get enough protein from other sources if required. But going Vegan - not for me. I run better on animal proteins.

I feel bad for farmed animals but I guess just not enough to give up meat.

I do think I could live without red meat and poultry and still enjoy food, but I could not live without eggs, fish and dairy.

I eat meat because it’s one of the things I don’t have a bad reaction to and it’s the healthiest food on the planet (excluding pork)

Can’t wait for them to find out how to replicate meat safely and identically so that we can end this argument once and for all
