    Push-Pull Imbalance

Would you consider someone who can do a set of 6 BW dips but not even 1 pull-up to have a push-pull imbalance?

Let’s just say they don’t bench bars or dbs.

I'd assume this person had a relatively weak back, possibly a little overweight too - but would just be guessing. I wouldn't call it a "push/pull" imbalance which is something applicable to workout routines and not bodies IMO.

op, you are heavy, like air2fakie mentioned. Body weight moves are running close to your 1RM. Dips are always a litle easier. For example, I can do 35 dips but only maybe 18 pullups. When I chain two plates, I can still do maybe 10 dips, but probably won’t be able to pullup once.

Dips are significantly easier than pullups.

Idk about an imbalance, but if you can't do a pullup, you should hit your back extra hard at least until you can do a few.

Then he should focus on strengthening back and shoulders, and his body weight.

    Ignoring Dips/push and balance
IMHO anyone who cannot do even 1 pull up should gain strength/lose weight/do whatever as needed to be able to do some pullups - not necessarily big numbers, but at least some!

Maybe but i think pull ups are a harder exercise than dips.
Pull is harder but it depends on what pull it is.
Deadlifts are much stronger than a say row.
Most pushing is done from a bench except maybe overhead work.
Pulling is done mostly without that support except some machines witchiest support.
I would though work on your weakness(more pulling) even if you have to modify it with a band or counter balance machine of some sort.
