Between Corona and the riots, this is one of the worst times in modern US history. Why hasn't he addressed the nation?
All he's done is send a bunch of tweets, most of them making the situation worse (when the looting starts, the shooting starts).
Is this what leadership looks like? You hide behind your phone and send tweets while cities burn?

Where is Trump during all of this?

The United States didn’t elect a leader. They elected a candidate. Trump is incapable of being a leader because he won’t step up when he could fail and has never been truly held accountable in his life. He doesn’t lead by example. He doesn’t unite. His presidency will be stained by failure after failure. He admitted America wasn’t great prior to his election and he will leave the White House after making our country markedly worse. He is an abject failure and it’s recognized by everyone outside of his cult following.

You mean the guy who takes no responsibility and would change nothing that's resulted in the death of 100k+ Americans? The guy that's more concerned with drumming up some bs CT accusations against a news guy that's mean to him?
You mean a POS like Trump? The lights are out and the fire burns while he's inside fiddling away.

This thread is just a pool of all the alt accounts of one leftist.

No he’s not handling it well, he’s not a president who’s words make you have a cold sweat run down your back.
But let’s be real, no president could stop a looting injustice riot with words. Half these “protestors” are mentally ill and just want an opportunity to be violent.Misc Firearm Crew. 2nd Amendment cannot be Interpreted.

It's not about "stopping" the rioting, it's about at least trying to pull the country together even if he really can't.
He certainly has no difficulty find the words to rail on his "enemies" like a teenage girl on twitter.
It doesn't really matter anymore, the energy you're seeing by the protesters is also very much an anti-Trump energy as well. These are the people who ordinarily wouldn't bother to vote. If they come out in these numbers for this, you better believe they'll show up in November to oust Trump.

What should be done? He should give a nation address in a cool calm demeanor and tone, and give a warning to these domestic terrorists to disperse and re-frame from further violence and destruction immediately. And that in failure to do so he is permitting the authorities to use lethal force to prevent property destruction or harm to themselves and others at their discretion.
He should lobby congress immediately to implement law that puts severe consequences on those individuals that are caught to further discourage the acts, and label antifa a terrorist organization.

ADDRESS THE NATION?? Did you hear the scripted address the nation about Covid. That was the worst address the nation I've seen. I'm honestly worried and not confident. That covid address was written by Kushner and it had Trump looking at the camera slurring words. Scripted speeches don't seem to be Trump forte

This thread basically explains the problem with America. Look man I support protesting injustice and a police state, but I also support the right of anyone to put a hole in your head for torching their property. I support protesters demanding accountability but I also support police officers who do their jobs in great fashion. Can’t anyone be a little more rational instead of spewing far-right or far-left generalizations? ****, man.
Next election should ban a Democrat and Republican from running and have only independent candidates as option who will be loyal to all citizens and not political parties. Srs

This. Both sides are seeing only the things they want and ignoring the larger picture. It's not just a group of violent thugs wreaking havoc, it's also not a justifiable display of violence by the rioters. Peaceful protest is okay and justified, but violence isn't. It's hard to sit by and condone the burning of cars and businesses, but it's also not easy to condemn a movement you are viewing from the sidelines.
But the central issue and serious discussions that should be arising are being drowned out by sensationalism from all sides.
