I haven’t tested my maxes for a while so unsure what my true maxes are. I’m just using a training max which is 85% based off my maxes I used starting from my first cycle.

Full body is alright so far. Little different than what I was doing but it's a nice change up.

Summary: So it's been two weeks since I haven't used any pre workout. I decided to get off using them as I've made a lot of changes to my eating habits. This includes eliminating products that contain "natural flavors", sucralose, etc. I can go into it all but I'll spare the details. I've just been having coffee every morning and before my training. Yesterday's training session occurred later in the day so I was a bit tired and not as focused. With that said I still felt strong through out but decided to just hit my two main barbell movements and called it a night.

So I made a mistake picking this Black Army Jacket template. I didn't realize for some reason the weights stay the same for an entire cycle (3 weeks). The biggest negative about this template is not only the weight staying the same for 3 weeks but the fact that I'm changing weight on my barbell for 9 sets just flat out sucks, especially on the deadlift.

I'm going to pick a different template to run because I'm just not into this BAJ one and didn't even want to train today just because of all the changing of weight that occurs.

I decided on using the Supplemental Heaven template. I should of went with this from the start but hindsight is always 20/20.

I like the set up of this template because I get to use variations of the main lifts while also getting in some good volume using the 5x5/3/1 set up for the supplemental work.

I like the combination of squats and sumo pulls. Looks like a good way to smoke the legs.

Solid work on the bench day too. I need to stop being lazy and google some of these templates you are using. How are you doing so much weight with reverse hypers lol that is some strong work on that lift.
You would be surprised just how much time I have to waste.

I definitely like this template a lot more than that bullsh!t Black Army Jacket set up. You can check these templates out in the 5/3/1 Forever book but if you have questions on any of them I'm more than happy to help.

I like ending a squat or deadlift session with reverse hyper. It definitely makes my lower back feel good.

I’d be miserable changing so many weights lol.

I’m so lazy I don’t even strip my leg press when I’m done, I just leave them on there until I have to load a barbell another day lol.

Yeah the template is just not for me. Who knows if it works or not but I definitely didn't want to do two cycles of it to find out. This currently template is more suited for me.

Pretty damn excited today. I received my Rep Fitness dumbbell rack yesterday and put it together this morning. A couple hours after I received my Rep Fitness 5-50lb dumbbell set.

I'm really liking this template a lot seeing as I'm able to also build supplemental lifts while still getting stronger on my core lifts. It has me engaged so much more in my training and just bringing an overall sense of enjoyment.

I'm selfishly a little bit disappointed that you changed templates, only because I was really curious to see how much fatigue the Black Army Jacket template produced over the course of a cycle, and what kind of results it produced. I'm always intrigued by atypical programming like that. I totally get why you changed though, and it was the right decision. There's no reason to continuing doing workouts you're not enjoying when there are plenty of templates out there that you do enjoy. Pretty soon you'll have enough equipment to open up your own gym, lol.

Those are some good looking db's!

Great job on those recent workouts. The OHP, Floor Press, and Tate Press consecutively is awesome for the triceps. I'm sure you had a nice burn going.
Deadlifts and Front Squats done together is a killer combo as well.

Yeah I mean it’s a unique and strange template and I’m sure it would of yielded some results but I didn’t like it at all. Nothing was worse than changing weight after every set, especially on the deadlift. I wasn’t about to do that for 6 total weeks.

I totally understand. I shouldn't have said I was disappointed, because I certainly wasn't disappointed in you by any means. You're killing it with the new template, and it's clearly the better fit. I just meant that I was sad at not seeing the end result. But I guess I did after all...the end result is that the template is a freaking pain in the backside, lmao.

I thought your signature just meant you were going to be sticking with 5/3/1 for a while lol. I did not even know that Wendler had put out an entirely new book on 5/3/1 called "5/3/1 Forever".

Thanks broseidon. I will be reading this over the next couple of days and see if I find a new template that catches my interest I may give it a shot. Appreciate the heads up. I cannot believe I was unaware of this book!
You would be surprised just how much time I have to waste.

The plan is to do 5/3/1 for a full year. That'll take me to 10/2021.

I'm glad you got a copy of it. There are tons of templates in there to take a look at.

Yeah it's a nice change learning sumo. It's also a nice break from any added stress to my lower back as well.

I just assembled the newest addition to my garage gym. It's the Rep Fitness AB300 FID bench (flat/incline/decline).

    Sweet bench!

One of the best things about Sumo Deads is how much easier they are on the lower back (depending upon how they're done, obviously). And yes, they combine excellently with Squats.
How much experience do you have doing Sumo?

I have no prior experience with sumo deadlifting at all. This is my first time implimenting them in my training.
