    Help with Keto macros

    Can I lose weight on a ketogenic diet if these are my macros?:

    Calories: 2000
    Protein: 180 g
    Carbs: 30 g
    Fat: 130 g

    Here is my information:

    Age:31
    Sex: Male
    Weight: 313 lbs
    Height: 5'11
    Exercise: 40-60 minutes indoor bike daily

    You can lose weight on any diet. The key is to improve your mitochondria's ability to use fuels. Fats generally produce more energy per mass than carbs do, but you need well-functioning mitochondria to burn fat. You need to set yourself up in the right environment to allow for fat burning to occur naturally. You need high oxygen tensions. Spending more time outdoors around trees will help as will sensible exposure to sunlight with UV light.

    Cutting carbohydrates can reduce the amount of oxidative stress and can help mitochondria repair. Fasting also has great benefits. Being hydrated is also extremely important as is getting plenty of sleep and creating a calm, dark/low stimulating environment in the evening with plenty of exposure to natural daylight as soon as you wake up.

    Focus on the above while keeping carbs low, and eat large meals less frequently instead of small frequent meals, and you will reap massive benefits. These details are much more important than your macros or calories. You need to eat enough to satisfy your hunger, and when your body adapts to burning fats, you will be less hungry, and can go longer without food as your body taps its own stores. You will lose weight while hunger drops.

    You have two options to check if your macros correspond to a keto diet.

    The first and simpler is the percentage nutrients. 75-70% of fats, 15-25% prot, and 10-5% carbs.
    You can do the math manually or you can choose some site with macro calculators, such as:

    The other method is by a formula used for epiletic children who have problems with meds and are treated with keto.
    K/AK = (0.9 * F + 0.46 * P ) / (C + 0.1 * F + 0.58 * P)
    F: fat; P: protein; C: carbs
    The K/AK index must be equal or greater than 1.5 to be considered a ketogenic meal[1]

    By using the two methods you are not eating a total daily intake considered ketogenic.
    36% prot; 58 fat; and 6% carbs
    k/ak in 1.36

    by raising your fats to 145 g and lowering your prot to 150 g you can reach a k/ak of 1.52 and still eat a total intake of 2025 kcal.
