Strongly considering getting a new ZR2 in the fall.

So I decided to give up the go fast stuff, sell both my vehicles and get just one vehicle to daily drive. I'm considering getting a used ZR2, or maybe a brand new 2020. The problem I have is GM (ironic, I know.) I really feel like after the bailouts, they went to hell. I've only ever owned GM vehicles (and one ford) but I was was considering getting a tacoma. They seem to be a lot more reliable as a whole, and better resale. The problem I have with them is that the interior is badly dated (2016+), my 08 G8 has the same quality of interior. Truck vs truck, I love the ZR2 more than the tacoma, but I'm concerned about the long term reliability. However even though it's been out for only 3 years, I can't really find any bad info about these trucks. The reviews are stellar, and GM really seems to have knocked it out of the park.

Anyone here own a ZR2? Tacoma vs. ZR2, who comes out on top to you, misc?

You've answered your own question. Sounds like your brain is telling you to go for the tacoma, but your bias says GM.

I'm not Tacoma guy at all, but GM interiors are no better.

With that said, a first generation V8 tundra is better than any Tacoma.

If you want a half-truck why would you get anything other than a tacoma? 2nd up is undoubtedly the new ranger, but price point on them can be pretty stupid.

Gas powered toyota, but if you go diesel, I like that duramax in the chevy a lot and I would lean that way myself. FWIW

Seating position in Tacoma’s is brutal, and seems like everyone hates the 3.5 and minivan / Camry transmission in the 3rd gen.

If wanting a smaller truck, I would go 1st gen Tundra.

And do you actually need a truck? I have a 2020 Pro 4Runner and it is extremely roomy on the inside. Also tried and true 4.0 / 5spd.

I wouldn't buy anything GM has made since the bailout days from a mechanical standpoint, and i own a 3/4 ton Silverado with a duramax in it. If you want dead nuts reliable, get the yota. I had a friend with a denali canyon and the truck seemed like a POS honestly for a 50k dollar truck. The ZR2 im sure is just the same.
