Question Are there still people who believe in trickle down economics? (Srs)

Obviously this doesn’t work, but I’m curious as to if people still believe it works?

    All responses are greatly appreciated.

I think in the modern age of multinational corporations it needs to be a modified version, but in general yes.

    Not sure.

It's an archaic idea for sure, true in times where in order for the rich to get richer they need to up production and production creates labour demand meaning unemployment goes down and wages rise.

But today there are very many ways to generate money without involving any kind of production. But even those rich spent money which means it ends up in the economy anyway so there is some benefit. Just not as big as it used to be.

The reason most people are poor is because they don't know how money works. Our public school system has failed them.

Of course, that system is run by the government, and the government wants to keep as many people poor and dependent on the government as possible...

It has been shown that cutting taxes on lower income people is what actually drives employment growth, not the wealthy. I don't think you hear much talk about trickle down economics anymore. I think it has pretty much been thrown out.

Because the assumption is that the money saved is invested in the industrial economy.

This is false. It’s invested in finance aka quick profits.

Right but did anyone lose under it? If I recall the standard of living went up across all demographics. Obviously the rich did the best, but that is to be expected and frankly the way money works.

If you put money into the economy it will usually stimulate it in some way. But the growth from trickle down, supply side economics, Reagonomics, or whatever they call it, is very low in comparison. It's really designed for wealthier individuals to better save and invest their money, which contrasts with demand side economics, which believes that demand is what actually drives strong economic growth rather than tax cuts.

If I have time today I will go look at some of the studies... but I believe what happens is that under trickle-down the wealth grew larger at the top in a shorter-time span but over the long term GDP actually declines. I think most people believe demand is what drives economic growth over tax cuts. That's not to say we cannot use tax cuts to stimulate growth over the shorter term, just like how the Fed manipulates rates to drive growth. But the idea is that over the long-term, with trickle down you consolidate wealth and impede demand.

Lower income people referring to people who are lower income to those benefiting the most from trickle down. I see what you did there though.

If hitler. Evee did any thing good in his lifetime it was savibg germany from the greatest depression the world had ever seen and doing so in just 5 short years

I dont know why we dont put some of those practices to work

Starting with doing the same thing he did and getting rid of federal banking reserve.

For every dollar the united states borrows it lays back $1.50. Its pure insanity

When you have leaders whos actions are motivated by grewd and self profit nothing of any good will ever be done or accomplished
