    how many calories do you eat per day?

    how many calories do you eat a day? i've come to the conclusion that because i'm a natty the days of me wafting down 3,500-4,000 calories are over. don't think it does me any good beyond just making my belly fatter.
    do you have a target amount of caloric intake every day- and what is/are your goals? are you a man or a woman?

    or do you ignore calories and just count your MACROs. (IIFYM)

    Iifym ends up the same as calories as just only counting calories
    I get minimum fat and protein macros in at least, including complete proteins and healthy fats. Then fill in the rest. I eat 2200 calories a day roughly 140 grams of protein at least and 60 grams of fat, I do normally eat more protein than that though. Female and maintain is my current goal

    Mine varies based on hunger, which varies day to day.

    On average I’d estimate probably anywhere between 2800-3500 depending on what I’m doing.

    I probably get 140-180 grams of protein every day and at least 350 carbs, maybe up to 500 sometimes... fat stays pretty moderate, probably between 60-90.

    Right now trying to add mass and get strong AF

    Days I work 16 hours usually only 2500-3000 mostly due to less food access and being busy at times; days off around 4500. High TDEE due to activity levels and needing to 'make up' for days I eat less at work. Probably averages to 4000 per day by the end of the week, this is to maintain/gain slowly.

    Macros fall wherever they do, as long as I get 150g of protein and 100g of fat (personal preference on higher fat) I let the rest work itself out. Seems to be mostly protein and fat though since I like meat, eggs, cheese, ect over heavier carb sources generally.

    Started bulking on 2,200 calories. Had to keep increasing, increasing and increasing to gain weight. Eventually reached 3,400 calories a day. Was starting to feel a little podgy and was considering a cut, then lockdown came so I dropped to 3,000 calories and my weight has remained exactly the same for the last 8 weeks, so I guess that is my maintenance.

    Srs. I haven't strictly tracked my calories in years, but my intake usually winds up somewhere around there on average (at least 6/7 days of the week). Some rare days I might hit 5k on the weekend, others I might go as low as 2.5k. I basically never eat 2k or less.

    Finished a cut 3 weeks ago, been maintaining at ~190 since then on about 3,200 daily. 200-250g protons, 250-300g carbs, the rest in fats. Goal is to maintain this weight for a couple months and maybe recomp a little, then start slowly easing the calories up. I'm pretty comfortable with this range of protein/fats, so I'll be bumping the carbs for extra calories when that time comes.

    Currently lean bulking at 3090 calories on MFP. Of course that's too precise, in reality my number would usually fall somewhere between 2900 and 3500 depending on the day. Aim for at least 155g protein and 100g fats, about 380g carbs.

    Maintenance is about 2800. I usually start a cut at around 2250 calories and finish at around 2000.

    Currently “reverse dieting” to try to figure out my current maintenance, which I expect to be somewhere between 2600 and 2800 calories. If I’m lucky, more, but at 40 and lean, and based on historical experience, that seems unlikely.

    Recently I was cutting, got as low as 1900 (but never more than a week or two, 2000 was more normal). When I was running 60km a week in addition to lifting, I cut at 2600.

    Hoping to lean bulk in the low 3000s starting around July - will do a month or so of “maintenance” when I get to the projected range to validate that it really is maintenance.

    When I was dreamer bulking I was eating 4k/day but I put on 30lb in 5 months lol.

    ....i basically started this round of weight-gain at 130lb... and I'm 6 foot... lol

    Lowest all-time in restriction was 126.... that felt like death... literally.

    Will, im 6 foot and only weigh around 140... and even when I started gaining at around 130, I needed over 3k to gain anything consistently.

    That is pretty much how it runs with me. Last bulk I was on around 3500-4000 calories and for 4-5 months I went from 177lbs to 190-200 lbs when really I should have gained just 5-10lbs instead......

    My activity amount isn't much really and with my dog snapping her cruciate ligament over the winter period (Oct - Jan) my only form of cardio exercise went. So other then the weights I didn't do any form of planned exercise during that time and my general activity amount plummeted.....

    The pain of being inactive you have to eat little.

    My activity is basically lifting upper/lower 4 days a week for about 60-70min, and I walk around 6 miles a day.

    Most calculators would have me maintaining at around 2500-2600.... but right now, if I go anywhere below 3k, I lose weight... so I need at least 3200-3300 to see any change at all.
