Wink 6’5 270 and need to lose pounds and gain muscle

Been putting my exercise off for years now and finally want to change myself. I current way 271 pounds and around 6’5 in height.

I’m aiming for getting in shape to join the police academy this year. I always said when I start exercising I would join this website as I’ve known about for years.

I start my membership at YMCA today and was hoping someone could give me a regime to do as I will be going to the gym for 1 hour a day for 5 days a week.

I have some protein powders and what not for consumption after workouts I just mainly need to know what sets to do as I’m willing to do it all.

Get on a proven weight lifting program to maintain the muscle you have and eat fewer calories than you burn. Concentrate on fatloss. Muscle building will come after you lean out and the diet changes to more calories. Just by losing fat and maintaining current muscle you'll look more muscular.
If you don't get what you want you didn't want it bad enough

Correct, lift on a program that is proven to work. There are several programs provided on this site that will work. Follow a diet that allows for weight reduction of a 1-2 lbs per week.

you’ll go hard now just with a calorie deficit. When you lean out you’ll add calories and start adding muscle.
