    DB handles

I am looking for good quality DB handles (screw type). No cheap garbage with loose fitting collars etc. good quality machined steel. Price isn’t really an option. Google Just returns CAP BB junk and the likes.
    Keep going....

According to a blog by Jim Wendler, he recommends getting 1" round steel bar and fitting a BMX handgrip in the center then using spring clip (2 if you go super heavy) to hold cheap 1" hole plates on it. Sorry this isn't screw type though.

He suggested that so you can go heavier than standard dumbbells but no reason you can't cut the bar to whatever shorter length you wanted for standard length/weight

    https://jimwendler.com/blogs/jimwend...-kroc-dumbbell

All depends on if you or a buddy can get hold of steel bar.

Rogue has DB handles that are like cut down barbells. Very nice and very expensive starting at 135.00 each.

    They look great!
Wondering why I've never seen in commercial gyms? (maybe they're too easy to steal?)

That or it’s a lot cheaper to just buy full non adjustable rubber dumbbells.

The ones with standard plates are best IMO.
    I think IVANKO sells them.
The issue is you'll have to buy several pairs as they only hold a certain amount of plates or get different length center screws.
Not a quick change either but very solid and like commercial gym quality.
The rouge ones mentioned above would be ok but you have to worry about the length of the DB handle and have several oly plates available 25's or less.So they could be a hassle to do some exercises.

You say price isn't an option, so have you thought about just buying a few pair of heavy dumbbells? I have 50's, 60's, and 70's AND I drilled an tapped (5/16" dia IIRC) in each end to accept 2.5 lb weights with a (5/16") stud so that I can convert each to 55's, 65's, and 75's. I actually have some 5 lb weights with a stud too so I can convert the 70's to 80's. The 70's on the floor have the 5's on them.

Looks like they're out of stock until at least early June but man the dumbbells from Ironmaster are solid. They go from 10 lbs to 75 lbs each in increments of 2.5. I wouldn't say swapping the weight is fast but it's not slow. Once you get it down you can do it in less than 30 seconds each DB.

Not cheap, but to do 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, etc all the way up to 75 lbs for $650 in a set of dumbbells that should last forever is not bad. Also, you can buy the kettlebell and use the same weights for that too.

I don't remember the brand name, but I bought 4 'screw type' dumbbell handles with molded grips at Walmart a long time ago and just cut of the molded grips. They're 14 inches long and I've had them up to 155 lbs each. When you consider that the fixed center point is less than an inch and a half long, you appreciate how strong the bars are.

    Better view of bars:

I have an Ironmaster 120lb set and a 5-55lb hex DB set with a vertical stand. It's a good combo, I don't have to mess with plates on anything small and the heavy stuff takes up a whole lot less space than it would otherwise.

For pro style dumbbell handles, try Fullcirclepaddding.com. They are out of stock right now, but carry handles, screws, caps, and other accessories for gym equipment repairs. I picked up the Cap flat plates from Walmart. Dumbbells are Still going strong after 6-years. Good luck.

+1000 on Ironmaster. BEST 'adjustable' dumbbell around. Has feel of 'pro style' dumbbells and can hold from end for things like dumbbells pullovers (and not knock yourself in the head with spin on collars). The ironmasters have 'flush' locking mech. Super nice.

Don't those things feel a bit out of balance if you're used to regular dumbbells?

I've got some Olympic size dumbell handles. I only really use them for dumbell rows, bought them because I sucked at barbell rows and wanted to be able to load my olympic size plates. They're not as good as screw type for things like curls and they're not as good as proper gym dumbells for heaving up to do dumbell bench. But I still like them.

I just started seeing these ads.

It looks like an upgraded spinlock with a really nice beefy grip area.

I'm assuming the threads are 1" so you could put on your standard plates and not have to pay up for theirs, which look bulkier.
