    When cutting

I'm cutting at 2300 calories but at night time I usually have only eaten 1800 and have 500 to spare, but I don't have the money or access to 'clean foods' so I've been avoiding those left over cals instead of eating processed/sugary stuff to bump it. Will I lose a lot of muscle this way, or should I be really aiming to hit 2300?

No, just keep your protein intake high.
Also calories eaten late with little activity have more of a chance to be stored as fat.
Eat big early and taper down towards the evening.

Most (and sometimes all) of the food we eat is processed. The term "processing" isn't inherently bad, it actually can be a highly beneficial process. Also, carbohydrates (sugar) is not evil. I'd recommend heading to the nutrition forum and checking out some of the stickied threads at the top and catching up on some basic nutritional information.

This is complete nonsense and not supported by science.

    Protein intake high, I agree.

    The rest is nonsense.
