We've done a few of those.
Some examples were:
In 2017 it was an 8.5x11 sheet of paper, vertically, at 7 yards. Pistol loaded with 5 rounds + spare magazine, start position pistol holstered and hands above shoulders. COF, draw, fire 5, reload from slide lock, fire 5. My entry (detailed video submitted) was 5.88 seconds with a 1.70 first shooting a Glock 26 IWB.
In 2013 it was carbine, mags of 5+5, 25 yards, 8.5x11 sheet of paper vertical at 25 yards. My video entry was 6.91 seconds. Also pistol, same as carbine but 10 yards (low ready), my video entry was 6.49 seconds.
We also had one where we printed an 8.5x11 paper that had a bunch of 1" circles on it, everyone fired like 20 rounds or something and the most hits on a circle (no duplicates) won. I think I won that one, even though I literally hit a couple difference circles than I was aiming at to do so, but "hits count" lol
And there was one other shot prone with a sling (Appleseed influence probably) outdoors rifle.
Just to give you an idea
It needs to be shootable at a lame ass motionless indoor range, the most eXtReMe you can get is drawing from the holster or you'll lose a bunch of people who aren't allowed to do whatever it is live fire at the range(s) they can get to easily
I also commonly talk about shooting The Test (vicers/hackathorne credit), Half Test, and Super Test. It's shot standing motionless from low ready to an NRA B8 target (5.5" circle is 'in the black'). The Test is 10 rounds, at 10 yards, with a par time of 10 seconds, you can score by the rings and it has to be 90+ or you can say every round has to be 'in the black' (the 5.5"). Also half test is at 5 yards and all 10 rounds in 5 seconds. Super Test is both of those + 10 rounds at 15 yards in 15 seconds, all on the same target back to back to back, need 270/300 to pass (or all in the black if you want it more difficult). Tiebreaker is quicker time (but it's really meant to be pass/fail by just going under par)
If it's slow fire I propose a 3x5 walkback drill. 3"x5" index card, horizontally, start at 3 yards. Fire 3 rounds. If all 3 hit, move the card 1 yard farther. Repeat 3 rounds per yard line until you have a miss.
I shot this for fishn when he kept talking sht about how easy this drill is because it's so close it's a joke, but, that was a couple years ago and he hasn't even posted proof he owns a handgun let alone knows how to shoot one lol
"Half Test". NRA B8 at 5 yards. 10 rounds from low ready. All 10 in the black. 2.69 seconds with 0.90 first. Glock 26

^Might be up for this, outdoor range only for me atm so no fancy ass setting my range but they have a ~3, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 25 yard targets on the pistol range.

Farley agreed that it needs to be shootable at an indoor range. We could come up with something based around that Air Marshal qual single target stages / non moving stages only, shot on an IPSC / IDPA silhouette. We could also try Reid Heinrichs' pistol skills test.

Purchased a Glock 17 Gen 4 today. Really wanted the Beretta 92, but didn't feel like dropping the $900 for it.
I now have two pistols, an AR, and a Mossberg.

You also lived in Denver? When? I was there from 2002-2004 and again 2007-2008. I do not expect to be relocating from the SE Detroit suburbs.
I owe you photos of my dogs you requested in the prior thread...
On an unrelated note, I tore my left bicep last month. Had surgery the following week and this Wednesday will be 4 weeks post surgery. Recovery is not nearly as bad as I had thought it would be. Not supposed to train the left bicep until 6 weeks post. Hopefully that process goes as smoothly as things have up to now.

I was in lovely Aurora from 2008-2011. Nice state, I liked it.
I had a bicep tendon tear in my shoulder fixed when I was out in Colorado. It wasn't fully off the bone, but ended up getting sown back in place. The recovery was a bitch, my range of motion was slow to come back but feels great now as long as I keep up with a few exercises.
Yeah, hon. Let's see those pups.Baltimore Orioles
