Working out for me (as I am sure for most on here it is as well) is not a hobby but a lifestyle, as such I don't really have a fun hobby. I once joined a pool league and that was fun but I found myself drinking at every meet and drinking is not my thing so I quit.
Anyway this past Saturday I went to my boys Dennis (the one who was let out of prison) gender reveal party at orchard beach and while I was there, there was a car club. They liked my car and asked me if I wanted to join their club which I did.
They have 3 locations, NY, NJ and Boston and this weekend I am meeting up with them in NJ for my first meet. I have to have at least 3 meets then they will give me their decal. They featured my car yesterday on their IG Page and its getting a lot of likes up to 587 and counting.
I am hoping this will be a fun hobby for me as honestly I am bored out of my mind...
Here is a screenshot of the pic they used on their site.

Depends on the group and how cliquey they are, a few are pretty decent but other ones you show up & no matter how hard you may try they pretty much shun you because you are not in their little circle. Have had a decent time with some of the motorcycle clubs I have been involved with but the car ones have been meh.

I belong to a Mustang and Camaro club.
Lots of weekend cruises, some fund raisers, poker runs, coffee gatherings, car shows, etc.
Lots of clubs like you to attend and work their events as part of their membership.
Clubs tend to gather and park together at car shows, flying their club banners.
Most true clubs have monthly meetings, with a Defined leadership structure (president, treasurer, etc).
The corvette club in my area is pretty active. They do not however like modded cars. Very particular about keeping them stock. If you poke a bear in the eye, expect a bear like response.

I guess with the Covid some of the above will change, but we will see, thanks for the feedback
Boring? LOL, it's kind a new to me so maybe it will be fun learning new things.
Yeah bummer
Yeah I am definitely not into strongman stuff.
Same here, but everything comes in time, never too late. If I had it my way I would have purchased one a long time ago.
Yeah I can see that happening I guess I will see how/where I fit it, people tend to get along with me very easily.
Yeah so far I met (via the internet) the president, vice president and an admin they all seem pretty kool.On the list for Bannukah

A lot of those Camaros had Corvette engines IIRC. I don't know anything about Pontiacs but the 3rd Gen Formula with the hood scoops was a mean looking ride.
Probably get negged but honestly the late 3rd Gens for all the GM F Body models is my favorite look. It's like the designers watched a lot of Magnum PI and melded their design with Ferrari. They're workhorses also, run on conventional oil, hard to kill and somewhat easy to fix.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

I hadn't even left the dealership after buying the Caddy and was ordering parts for it. Owned it a month and have added a splitter, rear spoiler, clear marker lights, wheel spacers, custom floor and trunk mats, etc. Have drilled rotors coming on Tuesday to compliment the Brembo brakes as well. I never leave anything stock, not in my DNA to do so.

My wife has a hard time understanding the appeal of loud cars, but she loves loud motorcycles. So I've been slowly working to get her to mesh the two concepts to understand it. Its been especially interesting trying to bring her around to the idea of a loud Mercedes, because she grew up with her grandparents having an S-Class and I want the AMG GT.

Around here, the youngsters do have clubs. They show up to participant voted car shows, and take most of the trophies voting for each other’s pos cars.
Other car clubs do it too, not just the kids. Only difference, most of the other clubs have cars they didn’t just drive over after their shift at McDonalds. If you poke a bear in the eye, expect a bear like response.

I like them both, but with a caveat. Say you got a late 60's Camaro and someone did an early 80's mod with fender flares, wide Micky Thompson rears and set it up looking basically like a drag car, that's sexy. Now if you took the same chassis and did blue lights underneath, shaved the handles, did gulwing doors, added a bunch of fiberglass etc, nah, that's not sexy.
To each their own.
Thinking I was in the back seat of that running late once on the way to a PL meat, sounded pretty damn good from where I was sitting.Don't put that on me Ricky Bobby, don't you ever put that on me.

Update: The meet was canceled so......
This is what I am hoping for.
Maybe stuff about cars, I honestly don't know jack sh!t about cars, so maybe this could be a hobby I pick up?
Truth is I am concern that I will be the oldest guy there and not fit in
Also, Chaz honestly my life has been pretty wild and I just want some calm "normalcy" if you will I know that sounds cliche, but it is what it is.
LMFAO!!! I don't even know how to change the oil on a car. I NEVER worked on any of my cars in my whole life just paid to get them fixed/worked on.On the list for Bannukah

Well BH the modifying addiction creeps up on you slowly. You go to a meet up and some random member asks what you plan to do to it; which turns into you considering it after seeing live examples. It usually starts with an air filter, then moves to small interior changes or wheels and extends to an ecu or chip. Then you hear a cool exhaust and want that for acceleration and highway tunnels because it sounds so dam good.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

Good deal, John.
Hobbies are important for mental health. Especially nowadays.
My hobbies are goats, guns and bonsai. The problem is I can't ever allow my goats to come near my bonsai cuz the goats will eat 'em, and I'd be pissed and take my guns and shoot 'em (then cook 'em).
The struggle is real. This above all..
To thine ownself be true..
And it must follow, as the night the day..
Thou can'st not then be false to any man..
