It does work, for a while. But it becomes less and less effective the closer you get to a normal BMI

BMI is a problematic measurement tool in and of itself. But my point wasn't whether or not you can gain muscle in a deficit. My point was how he makes it seem like you can infinitely build muscle in a deficit as a non-noob lifter due to that explanation of his which isn't exactly accurate.

If someone does substances but doesn't want to be labelled as someone who does substances, then they keep it secret.

But I'll admit that I've never seen anything obviously roided about Isuf, though I haven't watched or read a lot of him because for me he's too hard to understand.

Silent Mike, Isuf's close friend, is another fake natty. There's a funny clip with him, Alan Thrall, Mark Bell, and Meg Squats, where they're all discussing why they do/don't do substances. Bell openly admits he does them, Meg explains why she doesn't, Thrall explains why he doesn't do them, and Mike says he doesn't. Thrall looks at him and blurts out, "You f*king liar!" Mike just continues on like he didn't hear anything. It's classic.

It really depends on what you want to learn from them, each one slightly geared towards different styles of training and goals some some of my personal fav's I do recommend below for general lifting are:

Mike o'hearn - 50 year old lifter, looks about 30 and is all about longevity so teaches you styles of training that will give you the best chance of staying injury free whilst getting stronger with age. He trains with his wife who you will see is in insane shape too.

Elliot hulse - Can't really get any better regarding strength training and motivation.

Ryan humiston - Teaches you ways to isolate each muscle in unique ways so is great for learning mind and muscle connection and general physique shaping.

Not that it particularly matters, but if you've followed him for a while the moment he changed and hopped on becomes fairly obvious, physique changes dramatically after being stagnant for years, odd. Far more heavily using guests... Little odd. The wya he talks about it changed entirely.

Now does that matter? No. But we shouldn't claim natural when not as it makes the subject quite confusing for young audiences.

I prefer the Alsruhe approach of just off hand admitting the obvious once, then leaving the subject. Or better the West Side approach of just staring the obvious lol.

No one mentioned Supertraining. Mark Bell has one of the best weightlifting channels on youtube, and was a phenomenal powerlifter. He was also a professional wrestler (the fake kind), and his brother was the guy who made Bigger, Faster, Stronger.

Also, someone mentioned Elliot Hulse before he went crazy. I was going on the theory that he's acting the way he is because he's trying to market to a specific audience. I doubt that he's actually the guy you've been seeing lately.

70s Big. No new content for the past few years (founder joined the Army Special Forces as an 18D and was wounded in Afghanistan) but solid training info.

Iron Wolf for insane bodyweight workouts - guy is a burpee machine.

I enjoy the following (in no particular order):

Most of the Renaissance Periodization videos (Avoid Dr. Spencer, he's boring as hell even when talking about something interesting)
The Revive Stronger Podcast with Steve Hall (Not as fond of the material he co-produces with Pascal)
Juggernaut Training videos if they're talking about something you find relevant (Often too Powerlifting or Olympic Lifting focused for me)
Alan Thrall for general info and natty strength / strongman training
    Alexander Bromley
Biolayne (Kind of a mixed bag, sometimes he can get a bit ranty when debunking, so choose videos carefully)
Mountaindog1 - John Meadows (knows what he is talking about but video production quality is pretty low)
Jeff Nippard - I actually really like his stuff, surprised at some of the comments above. Sure, there aren't enough studies to really answer a lot of these questions, but he seems to try to synthesize that data with more practical info. Even if you don't like that part the info tends to be good and the production quality is excellent.
Elliot Hulse - I used to like his stuff but haven't watched it much lately, sounds like it hasn't gone in a good direction

Always looking for someone new so I'll likely check out some of the ones mentioned here I haven't tried yet.

Mountaindog1 - a lot of knowledge, but he just repeats himself
    -top 7 back exercises
    - best back exercises
    - 5 tips for back
    - how to build a huge back
and many, many more... and usually is just the same stuff over and over again...

Actually, most of them repeat themselves, but I had higher expectations from Meadows

Hulse - had some decent advice in the past, now he went all crazy.

Nippard - clickbait titles ("best workout ever according to SCIEEEEEENCE), annoying AF, repeats himself

AthleanX - cancer and ebola at the same time, the bearded skinny guy is annoing AF. He should make a channel with Nippard called "Baby face guys trying to look more manly without success". Seriously now, he had some interesting stuff in the past, mostly about injuries and recovery.

Doucette - a lot of knowledge and he had some interesting videos at first... then his voice and haircut changed suddently and mostly he talks gossip

    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    What I (somewhat) like

Alex Viada has some interesting stuff, but few videos
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZm...E-NYgFA/videos

    Candito
I am not into powerlifting, but I like his personality and he seems like a nice guy

    Tom Merrick
    Mostly calisthenics & mobility

Dan John has some interesting stuff

The Knees over toes guy - clickbait and some big claims, but I took some stuff from him

Andy Galpin - theory about nutrition, exercises etc

Fran Sands, Gabriel Varga, Tony Jeffries, Joe Valtellini - if you are into boxing and kickboxing
"Reminds me of the good ol' days back in 03-04 when ripptoes/5 by 5/hit/doggcrap reigned supreme and you did not need direct arm work for big biceps. Rows and chins were it. "Ever see a guy rowing 300+lbs with chicken arms?". Ah yes those were the days. God bless amusclehead and his twisted one dimensional views along with the rest of the former flock."
