Bought back in at 9250. 4% gain +/-

My indicators are mixed but from comparing a few charts I felt there was a strong chance we would see 9500 again within the next day or so. If not...I was wrong. Totally a gut move since my 1hr curve has not truly changed direction, but the short term looks like there is good support.

I will check one more time before I go to bed. If it does not show good strength, I will pull back out.

What a rocky week this was. The markets thrashed around. With that said I had a good week up 7% for the week.

On Wednesday I played Lowes options. Sold a put option w/ a strike price of $114. At the time the stock was at $111 so it was a gamble Lowes would close at or above $114 by Friday EOD or I'd be assigned the shares. Collected $350 premium for the contract, and w/ earnings on 5/20, I was OK getting assigned the shares if it fell below $114. Things did not look good Thur and early Friday w/ Lowes dipping to about $108. By late trading day Friday Lowes shot up and was sitting at $113.75 so I bought the contract back to flatten my position for $40 and profited $310 for the work.

Loaded up on more Microsoft when it dipped below $180 and KO at $43.80 as they are always a solid play to swing trade to make 50-100 bucks for a few days holding. Again, crazy week and some timely put options on SPY helped hedge against the big drops. This week should be fun. No clue what I'm playing yet. Might play the wheel I described earlier on Visa, IDK. I do know I'll avoid retail as they report earnings. I'll wait for a market dip and then sell a contract to collect $300-$400 and see what happens.

Vegas casinos are closed but you guys have found a work around

Just thinking about the implications this pandemic and lockdown, if I were to wager on some individual stocks I’d think anything related funerals would be good now. Things related to babies should see some growth in 7-10 months from now. “Buy Buy Baby” as a buy there, there will be a baby boom.

Retirement / assisted living facilities and cruise lines might take a while to see growth...

Ya BTC trading is fun and w/ no real fundamentals to judge it against its exactly like gambling

Cruise Lines will be just fine. The Saudis invested a bunch into Royal Caribbean recently and Carnival reported a massive amount of bookings. Airlines are risky as **** though as one is certain to go belly up- which one is the question. I keep swing trading airline stocks riding the volatility for small weekly gains.

I'd avoid most brick and mortar retail though unless it Dollar General like stores. JC Penny and J Crew already filed and there will be many more. Could play options against those but even that is risky because even bankrupt companies seem to go up for no obvious reason?

Ok, I am 3/3 now, with BTC hitting 9500. I'll go out on a limb and try for 4/4, but I dont think there are any definite and guys with MUCH more experience will tell you it is anyone guess.

Here is mine...I am holding. It will continue to climb and at 9700-9800. This will be tomorrow or Monday for sure. Then we will either see a big sell off, or....if it can gain footing and hit 10k (and hold it a big) we might see a quick shoot up from there and a bunch of profit taking.

I will decide to tell when I can look at my charts see what my guess is. Too early to tell yet.

This all coming from a guy who never looked at market till last week.... But if I call it correct that would be a probability of 4/1000

10K seems to be the resistance level right now. I keep reading about a sell off and a plunge to $6500 before breaking the 10k level but who knows. Some also think the 9200-9800 is going to be the trading range for a bit. Again, I have no clue how BTC even works but playing w/it this weekend you can see a bit of a predictable pattern.

If theres a sell off I'll jump in fully. I'm not ****ing w/ 10k though. Good luck with your prediction.

Called it again. 9746 right now with more in it I think. I made my sell order last night for 9780 which is teetering right now. Not sure if it will hit it, but just going to leave it.

If this one works, its a 4.2% trade. This is fun....waiting for me to start getting it wrong!

Ha! It worked. A little quicker than I thought. I am of course still trying to figure out how to predict this and my one week crash course is still in session.

Depending on how the rest of today goes, it will define my next move. If prices stay 9750 for the rest of day I am back in as I am seeing a big upside towards 10k. If they have trouble holding 9700 then will wait for a better buy in.

On my 'big picture' it is hard not to see a big upside soon if history is an indicator of the future.

Last check in for the day. I sold at 9768 and watched day for major sell off. There was a small 100pt dip about 7hrs after I sold, but it recovered and stabilized back up. Indicators were good for me it was going to hold. So I bought back in at 9747. I am looking for a decent day tomorrow. I guess this is making me 6/6 right now. Starting to scare myself...but any idiot can be right till they are wrong.

If I were putting 5 figure positions out there, my guess is I would second guess myself to death. Not sure it I am up for that stress.....

Invested a little bit today into a minor exchange, which was not open to the public, but rather through connections made these past years. It will list future small projects, essentially for free, through IEO's and a more structured process holding them to certain performance standard.

I hope patience and a little luck at some point will pay off for me. It doesn't take much for me to "make it" , which in my case is financial freedom, since real estate etc away from big cities is real cheap.

I'm playing a catch-up game in a sense since I was away from everything for several years, due to an anxiety disorder. Started getting better with training a few years back as I joined here, and felt I got my mind back as well with keto 2 yrs ago.

It's a different place over here though, and although some countrymen may disagree, I feel merit/competence is not as important as contacts and given my experience (absolutely noone gave a **** about my MBA ) I think I need to make it on my own over here. Trading in this emerging industry has kind of given me hope that I can blow past this whole corrupt system, so wish me good luck you old bast..folks.

Wish you all the best. No doubt the system is rigged but I've decided to just ride the whales waves and snipe profit along the way instead of "fighting" it.
    ---------------------------

I keep hearing about the incoming recession but the market just keeps rising. Today we broke through some resistance but I expect a small cool down before we heat up again going into the weekend. Retail earnings from the big boys (Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes) was really good and I was able to profit off of the stock ride up on Lowes. Next weeks play will be Microsoft. They are undervalued IMO and should finally break through $200 by years end. I'll run the option wheel collecting $200-$300 premium every 10 days until assigned 100 shares.

This is why I am wary of tech stuff.

I prefer to invest in companies that make a tangible product or service that I completely understand, touch, experience or see on a daily basis

Yup.Tech is smart if investing in known winners. Start up and hot companies, IDK. Look at NKLA, no product but worth more now than Ford? I stay far away from those. But then you always have Tesla.

Stopped with the silly day trading, but going to make a significant buy into bitcoin. I have mined all the coins I have and never actually 'bought' a bitcoin or any crypto. I think I am going to change that soon. Huge number of options expire tomorrow on bitcoin. A lot of people say it may go down to as low as 7k.

I am going to the point where my dollar cost avg will put me approx 3500. I would have never said I'd consider buying bitcoin at 7-10k but I think this might be the last chance and I am going to roll a little on it and actually spend money on it.

Watch the next few days. No one really knows. There could be the last time you say....'remember when I could have bought bitcoin for 9000....

Looking for stock recommendations for me to research. What do you like for something that you think will appreciate in value over the next 12 months?

This nearly $58K portfolio from May 8 is worth of $71K today, and I locked in a hyooge profit on TSLA selling 11 shares at the opening bell @ $1405. I bought these shares on Jan 22 for just $592 each. As of this instant,

    Google @ $1,497
    Amazon @ $3,042
    AAPL @ $379
    LULU @ $308
    MSFT $211
    WM @ $103 (I'm down 14% on this one having bought in @ $120)
NKE @ $98 (down here too having bought @ $105)
    WMT @ $125

Not sure on stocks. Some are calling for BIG correction. Never know what to believe.

I am still trying to time my additional bitcoin purchase. Gold reaching an all time high and significant global uncertainty can end up with another very large spike in bitcoin.

I would not risk too much, but the payoff might be very big.

Payton, Stocks are being driven the way they are because they are the only game in town for investment. Real-estate (at least here) is overpriced and not liquid enough, interest rates are in the dumpster. If your timeline is 1 year you could end up getting burned. Dont speculate...invest, investors think long term...min 5 years for me. My Take... If the base rate was 5% for example I think it would be a totally different stock market, all the old folks like us would be over buying bonds, GICs, whatever. That being said I may be staying away from individual stocks in companies, and when things settle down looking at things like ETFs and income funds. Just my 0.02

I'm blown away by how well things are doing. With 100% of our investments in equities, our total after the end of the 2nd quarter was the same as it was as of Dec 31.

I agree but this is a small amount of our overall portfolio. This is a rollover from my wife's employer from 1991 to 2000.

IMO don't do anything but add to your current holdings. If you want "safer" plays you can look at Berkshire but I'd just keep adding to your positions if you're looking long term.

EDIT: Have you looked at RTX? It closed at 58.11 today but, IMO, is servery undervalued.

Made my last bitcoin purchase today. I have been trying to get it 'rounded' off but could not decide when to make the move. I may go way down...been real stagnant in the low 9's. But once it breaks 10 I think it will not be back down.

I am almos tired of watching it....so I figured I would pull the trigger.

I had so much back in the day. I mined it in the first weeks of its release. I would mine and then trade for LTC (there was a good margin). Then I switched to VTC which had better yeild.

All my bitcoin except for my last one was generated from mining activities back in 2013. I just wanted to round off to a nice number so I bucked up to buy on last coin. I would not have ever pictured doing it....but I guess time will tell!

Sadly, no. I sold the TSLA, Waste Management, and Nike and have $26K sitting on the sideline. A part of my reasoning is waiting for a small drop for better prices, but the bigger reason is that I have just not taken the time to do the necessary research for replacement stocks.
