The Toad Prince is a huge step-up after finishing the main game, would definitely recommend the Golden Oriole potion - enhanced version grants immunity to poison, while the superior will actually heal you when poisoned -, Cursed Oil for the weapon and the freezing bomb, plus whatever decoction that suits you.
Haven't actually bothered with the Wolf gear - iirc I got the diagrams but haven't crafted the items -, just rolled with the Ursine set and slapped on the rune that turns the armor pieces into light armor.

I went straight feline armor for all the crit damage. Once I unlocked the overhead spinning swinging helicopter sword attack, I was basically an unstoppable whirling dervish of destruction and basically all my attacks were crits and could plow through entire mobs without breaking a sweat.

Yes. Brb playing Deathmarch and getting two hit by bandits
So I finished BOS and..
SPOILER ALERT
Spoiler!
Currently level 40. trying to gather enough cash for Grandmaster Feline Gear and have about 18-20k in money to spend on materials so far (not counting the mats I already got). B&W is the best expansion out of the whole game, visual effects and sound, immersiveness of the questlines and the fact that there are even more witcher contracts then I thought is phenonemal. Graphics are ****ing G0AT on a 4k-tv and I'm always immersed into the different songs they use to match the atmosphere and scenery. Especially liked the 'Belgard: Vine Wars' questline since it forces you to check out question marks and just goes with the flow of the story. Alot more NPCS and loot in Toussaint, not rushing the main questline rn though.
Still enjoying this game to its fullestif you need someone to chat with, don't hesitate to shoot me a PM.

wow you evil bastard lol. I barely started the vine wars quest myself.
Yeah I found myself doing that instinctively, but I bought it because some youtuber was shredding groups of enemies with it, but against most groups on Death March it leaves you way too open.
Yes get the DLC and then lookup spawn points for mastercrafted wolven, will save you a ton of money.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω

I reckon about 50-60 at 4k
Probably 60 at 1440 because it feels a lot smoother.
Unfortunately 60 is my max because my monitor doesnt go over 60.
Kinda annoying there is currently no monitor as far as I know that has 4k, HDR, higher refresh rates and a minimum screen size at 32".Sig line can't be a novel

Got to say clearing out those Hanse bases is not an easy task especially on deathmarch. You got like 20 high level bandits being level 40 and over and then they call more bandits so you'll be fighting like 40 to 50.
Currently level 42 with grandmaster feline weapons and gauntlets and chest. Very expensive armor set indeed.if you need someone to chat with, don't hesitate to shoot me a PM.

Is the upgrade to grandmaster as expensive as crafting the set and weapons up to mastercrafted level?
I have the mastercrafted set and had to do much looting and selling to get there.
I downloaded the wolven armour DLC yesterday and immediately ran into the glitch with the armour where I can't access the portal to get the schematic. Looks like I wont be rocking that set now!

Playing unlocked frame rate . It’s 70-90 at 4k everything ultra with the Halk Hogan texture pack and the Phoenix lighting mod. Though actually I think I turned off hair works a while back. As a relatively new PC gamer still kinda hard for me to tell what this does really besides tank performance. I feel like some things actually look worse with it on.
Should be finishing main game and HoS in the next day or so. Pretty excited to play BaW because I never really sat down to play it before. My second time through HoS and I’m absolutely loving it again. 3rd time through the main game and playing on PC makes it feel like a completely different experience. Think it was 900p at launch on Xbox haha. Think this playthrough has firmly cemented the game in my top 5 all time.SCC - Redskins - Wizards

Imagine actually letting this thread go to page 2 dayum
Just got full Grandmaster set yesterday but I'm using Aerondight as my official silver weapon because that ONE effect of stacking sword damage by 10% every hit without being damaged is fukn OP. I need to warn you that it's like three times more expensive then getting from normal gear to mastercraft due to the fact that it wants enriched demetrium ingots and plates that are like 2k for the ingots and 4-5k for the plate and that's not including the gems and other materials it wants but it's worth it.
My best advice to give anyone going for grandmaster gear in the DLC'S is to do the ''Wine: Wars'' quest for both perspectives of the two people and follow each and every question mark because it gives you the literal materials you need to craft for grandmaster gear. Sell all your gear that you're not using especially the yellow/orange.
In regards to Hanse Bases, Quen+Superior Hanged Mans Venom and Northern Wind Bombs is the fukn g0at. I'm not even bothering to go after the torch bearers but if I get hit once, I die due to the Deathmarch difficulty so it makes it all the more sweeter.
I'm almost level 44 and haven't continued the main questline and it's been hella fun doing side quests, Toussaint is fukn huge, also unlocked Mutations and can confirm it is the g0at.if you need someone to chat with, don't hesitate to shoot me a PM.

Well it doesn't look like I'll be going after the grandmaster wolven gear as the scavenger hunt for the DLC is bugged meaning I can't get to the armour diagrams.
I'll probably stick to Feline as I think that has the best aesthetics and suits my combat based play style.
Also ran into the bug on the From Ofiers Distant Shores side quest meaning I can't access the map to any of the other diagrams.
Not great to run into 2 bugs immediately after starting the DLC.

I think I'd have to uninstall and download the DLC again, which I don't really want to do as I'm a good few hours in what with quests and exploring.
I'm not too upset, the Feline gear is fine. I got mastercrafted Wolven armour from a side quest, but I know it will bug me if I cant pair it with the additional armour/swords.
I've really wanted to like this game, but the combat/open endedness just kills it for me. Bought it on PS4, PC.. but idk.
I remember playing Witcher 2 and I actually liked that game and got pretty far into it, but then it randomly just started freezing on PC so I couldn't get past that point and quit.
If you had to compare, do you think the combat from 2 and 3 is similar?
I got past the Baron on PS4 but after that the combat just killed it. That, and not having a single clue where to go.. the game is way too open ended, how am I supposed to make progress?
I think once you get past the Baron and into Novigrad the whole game opens up, you just have to stick with it. Although I enjoyed the Baron quest.

If you just want main story, just follow the main story quests in your quest log. Everything else is optional and is mainly a source for money/extra levels/unique loot/more quests/more travel points/materials/etc. Not at all required though.
What difficulty are you playing on? Blood & Broken Bones or Death March is recommended to make combat more challenging.
Oh I guess. Grandmaster looks alot like Mastercrafted anyways just some extra pouches & stuff.ωσяℓ∂ тяανєℓєя ȼяєω

So after completing the main game without playing barely a round of Gwent, I've gone back and started from the beginning with the Velen quest.
Just smashed the boatman and soothsayer.
Turns out it's pretty addictive. Even though I barely understand the rules and have been fumbling my way through matches!

I've found that if you play the game on normal or of course easy difficulty, you can get away with ignoring or not understanding a LOT of the combat mechanics. Once you get into the Broken Bones/Death March difficulties, that's when it's basically imperative to have a good character build and armor set.
My recommendation if you're new to the game would be to keep the difficulty low at first and test some things out for yourself, see what you can learn. I think the game itself has some pretty decent documentation inside of it explaining things like runes and armor sets.
Just hit up the Google for anything else. I think you're unlikely to run into spoilers if all you're searching for is information on the game mechanics.Last edited by KathleenRyan; 06-18-2020 at 01:11 PM. Reason: a word

I'm not at that stage yet! I'm still figuring out what the various special cards do and trying to work out strategies to counter each deck.
Did you guys use any strategy guides or anything to get through it? Seems like there's so much information to process.. regarding crafting, items, locations, etc
I wish I'd have planned my crafting and character upgrades around my style of play more from the beginning (focus ability points on signs or combat etc).
I never really bothered with alchemy outside of bomb making and vitality potions. I also only starting crafting armour and weapons once I'd completed the Witcher scavenger quests.
Going after question marks and looting is key to scavenging the more powerful runestones and armour/weapons etc.
