So what would make them legit? Weigh each one and then put them on the bar??

    They are calibrated plates.

Actually, they did do this... on the live stream it showed them weighing each plate before loading it on the bar.

Though technically it WAS Hafthor's dad Bjorn that weighed the plates, which Eddie mentioned wasn't a good look.

EH commenting about it isn't a good look either.

Yeah, true... it was in Eddie's typical "If I had done that, people would have called BS" style though... he didn't say he thought there were any shenanigans going on with it.

He's mentioned a couple times that Bjorn was the only one that congratulated him after the WSM victory, so I think he likes him... sort of ;-)

Just having the proper sanctioning body do it and have it documented.

Agree, as much as he seems a likeable guy in other YouTube stuff and I have utmost respect for him otherwise, his moaning about Thor's DL is really starting to wear thin.

Edit: I almost want him to get beaten in the boxing if it'll shut him up

Ideally.. of course, but given the circumstances it would have been difficult, unless someone is suggesting he slipped some Styrofoam fakeweights in there to look like the comp calibrated weights???https://www.amazon.com/stores/FakeWe...2-2558A2D8F57F
Seems unlikely to say the least!

Don't think anyone is assuming that kind of shenanigans (he's not Brad Castleberry....lol), but I think Eddie has a point in doing things the right way if your goal is to put yourself over like that. He wanted to do it and have people know about it. It wasn't like a personal goal for himself..........

It's been pointed out that aluminum or wooden plates have been used during exhibition type stuff, for instance SuperStar Billy Graham and Ken Patera used a combination of steel and wooden weights during their weight lifting contests in Wrestling, both men have demonstrated their strength in legit fashion, Graham was a legit 600# bench presser with zero back arch and Patera lifted in Olympic contests.

.....Fred Hatfield was one of the first 1,000+ squatters, he and Pltz held a squat contest, Kaz was right there when Platz squatted 500+ for 23 reps, after all these years, why is Kaz now (most recently) saying the plates used during Platz's reps were questionable?????
