Can fat be lost through exercise excluding cardio?

    Hi,

20year old here just recently started trying to improve my body and gain some weight after being skinny my whole life.

Although I would still class myself as fairly skinny over the last year I have finally started gaining some weight in the form of fat on my stomach/love handle area.

There isn’t a lot but i definitely notice it and now that I have started lifting weights and increasing my calorie intake to gain muscle, I’m worried Incase when I have finished bulking I will have a huge pot belly.

Do I need to focus on burning this weight before I can take bulking seriously or will the weight lifting and core exercises burn this fat without having to include cardio?

Any help is appreciated I’m a complete beginner.

Fat loss is not the result of exercise, with or without cardio.

Fat loss is the product of being in a caloric deficit. Exercise can help you establish a caloric deficit, but if you're still eating too much then you will never lose an ounce of fat. The majority of your daily calories are burned through non-exercise activity, so you need to establish getting your intake under control first, then you can use exercise to help increase the deficit as required.

All it takes is consistency, effort, proper nutrition, good programming, and TIME.
