100%. He shouldn't have been hired, then he should have been gone after Garrett was fired. I don't have a ton of confidence in McCarthy's staff decisions but he should have at least had the option to bring his own man in. The lack of play calling adaptation to the personnel they had available was mind blowing.

I'm almost done with the whole team. Ever since the end of the Jimmy Johnson team the Cowboys have been a constant beacon of underachieving and disappointment.

Theres potential day 1 starter cornerbacks at pick 10. I dont think any safety has a first round grade on them this year but if we can snatch best available back to back im sure atleast one will be a day one starter and hopefully the other will be an impact player atleast. Comp pick still need a cornerback in camp. After that its kinda a crapshoot but ideally some upgrades on the oline/dline rotation with a pinch of luck.

hope we avoide drafting: WR (just lol), TE (jarwin/schultz/bell have you covered), RB (zeke/pollard with a healthy oline will be fine cant justify a premium pick here), QB (assuming dak is healthy and around 33m/year. Otherwise your fuk'd anyways as you wont find a better FA - gilbert has potential too imo), LB (banking on LVE to come back 100% and elevate jaylon smiths play, third stringer LB's are okay to fill in on some games but i dont trust the cowboys scouting LB's at this point lmao)

I just don't have a ton of hope anymore for this team. It's the same story every year. Talented team on paper, but are plagued by the same stuff year in and year out. Lack of discipline/accountability, poor defense, penalties at the worst times, passing up on REAL playmakers in FA or Draft, whiffing on "value signings" with veteran FAs, never addressing the safety position, questionable coaching decisions.....

Hawks gave up a big haul for Jamal Adams, but he has transformed that defense. Not saying we should have done that, but we don't make plays for guys who are difference makers. I honestly just don't think the front office has the brains to put together a complete team.

They put it together ~2x a decade ('16,'14,'07, etc..)...I can see the team improving vastly (ie 10-11 wins next yr) srs...we have a pretty good pick and the team has talent. Add in the fact that all signs are point to a Dak return, so I believe they'll play a bit more inspired.

No I agree with what you're saying...but from a fan aspect there's a couple of times a decade when it all clicks and it's up to the players to make it happen.

The Patriots were the only team to always be clicking...you could make arguments for other teams (Manning Colts/LOB Hawks/Recent Saints/Current Chiefs), but they all have one championship out of all that. (Chiefs pending)

That's why I watch anyway...each year there seems to always be that potential for a run...obviously hasn't happened yet thanks to Rodgers lol
