This'll be a day one purchase for me, of course. I have been hyped about Doom Eternal since last year when they did that 'who wants something a bit faster' and provided the PC gameplay. If there are enough of us maybe we can get a bb.com Doom crew together and do some of the 'invading' each other's games and so on for fun.

Now that it's been confirmed that there will be not one but two single player expansions the first year, this is a definite buy from me.

The inclusion of a dash-dodge is honestly my favorite tweak to the formula because if you have played Shadow Warriors 2 (which I highly recommend for Doom fans), it becomes an essential feature for a fast paced shooter. All the more so with the melee-heavy enemies in Doom.

I'm also really happy to see the plasma gun get a revamp because it was pretty underwhelming in Doom 2016, but now it has a charge-laser-beam... thing that looks like it will rip things apart nicely.

Demon variety also looks incredible, which of course means more glory kill animations - loved that quick throat slit on the teleporting demon.

Looks fantastic. Haven't been pumped for a game in a while. It would be awesome to see arena style shooters come back to popularity. The old days of quake 2 lithium and rail wars were a lot of fun.

Same here... made it more like cinema or a gimmick. Cool to shake things up , but I loved the old school 90's versions of just run and Gun and dodge 500 fireballs, missles, etc.

THis one looks epic because it's set on earth. But now he's flying in the air all the time and chit.... whatever. i'll watch some game play and maybe the ending on a YT video. lol

It's just a different type of shooter. Your way out of any pickle is to keep moving and shooting. The gameplay is super smooth and responsive so it feels incredibly satisfying to play hyper aggressive.

Pretty good explanation. There are so many games (O.G. doom 2 included) where the only way to stay alive is to constantly be backing up and circle strafing. This game the only way you're going to survive is to run straight at the enemy. Very very different vibe from most shooters.

I just got back to playing DOOM 2016. I left off on the Necropolis. I took me like 15 minutes of dying to finally get my groove back and start destroying everything in sight. So satisfying.

I restarted the game last week again too! Trying to prep myself. I was terrible when I first picked up the controller, but I'm back in the zone now. I'm in the Lazarus Labs now, right before the Cyberdemon battle.
