I have done absolutely NOTHING to maintain my gains during quarantine

How fukked am I when I go back to the gym?

My weight is the same but I'm a chubby little muffin right now, certainly lost muscle mass and gained fat

The closest thing I have done to a work out is go for a long walk and jerk off twice in the same day

Been out of the gym for 4 weeks and it looks like they will be closed for another 3 at least

    Hit me with it

You haven't lost anything in a month, you've just put on body fat to make it appear that way.

You might start seeing perceivable muscle loss 3-4 months from now and that's only if you don't eat.

Naturals don't have to worry about shrinking like a sponge unlike bicycles.

Umm bro don’t you know that you lose muscle exactly 3.50 days after you stop lifting at a rate of 3.50 lbs a day?

Body is constantly undergoing the protein synthesis/protein degradation cycle. Protein synthesis is only elevated for a couple days after your last workout. Past that point you're losing muscle by the second, as your degradation rate exceeds synthesis rate. Only exception (that I can talk about on this forum) is if you weren't that developed to begin with and you're eating a ton of protein

A week won't make a noticeable difference but 7 will

That theory only applies if you assume the body isn't getting supplied with energy to utilize, it's not eating away at your muscles as long as you're providing nutrition, lean tissue will be the last thing your body wants to break down for energy.

If what you said were true we'd be losing our muscles at an absurdly fast rate, I've seen naturals go a year without touching a weight and not lose any noticeable lean tissue, it's not nearly as severe as the fitness world makes it out to be.

Makes for easy Casein protein sales to the ignorant.

The one caveat to the normal body function that I just described are those that are massively over their natural structural limitations like IFBB's.

Not true m8. Seen quite a few studies on this over the years as well as quite a few anecdotes. Don't wanna dig up a bunch of studies this late but here's one

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19903317

Why would what I said imply we'd lose our muscle at an "absurdly" high rate? Assuming you lift regularly, you're spending the majority of your time in an elevated state of protein synthesis. And the time you spend in protein degradation is at a slow rate, unless you're massive, so you lose slowly. But over the course of a couple of months it does add up

I just explained how it works in an extremely simplified way.
Theory and practice are not the same thing, stop googling things, it only shows the narrative you're looking for, I could find studies saying the exact opposite of anything you link.
If you want to argue go get an 8 year education on the human body like I did, you're not qualified to interpret any case studies otherwise and shouldn't be regarding them as fact.

This behavior is exactly why half of my patients come to me thinking they have cancer or some infection that doesn't even exist in this hemisphere.

To fight muscle loss it is highly recommended that you consume at least 50g of fiber a day, and eat your bodyweight in protein. I also recommend drinking 10-12 cups of water a day and going on no fap no pillow and cold showers.

Makes for easy Casein protein sales to the ignorant.

The one caveat to the normal body function that I just described are those that are massively over their natural structural limitations like IFBB's.

Majority is water weight, muscle glycogen, maybe some fat and a tiny bit of muscle

Looking deflated is just loss of muscle glycogen + water weight

Don't overdo the calories because fat will be your biggest obstacle if you do when it's time to return to the gym.

Muscles fibers just shrink unless you're holocaust status. It'll probably take all of about three-to-four weeks to return to previous shape. Not a big deal.

I'd suggest doing some extreme calisthenics. Sh!t will humble you if you do it right.

I’ve done a lot actually, working out with light weights every day and light cardio every day. About two hours exercise daily.

BUT I wonder if it would really make a difference had I not done anything at all. Even with complete rest I bet that after a few weeks gym and diet I’d be back in shape anyway.

it's impossible to lose that much muscle mass in such a short time unless you were taking something extra before that most people come back stronger after 3 weeks off.
