sht, yeah thats true. my kid is starting kindergarten. fck it im going to look at alternative options and see what i come up with.
maybe i can have the teachers send lesson plans. i could teach my kid the sht pretty easily i bet with the downside being that my 9-5 is pretty damn challenging
*edit
holy sht im seeing rumors that my district will go 100% remote. based on my new train of thought...maybe this is best.

I think a lot are going to end up doing this
We were given the choice. 100% in person, or 100% remote. Initially no masks were to be required, and of the first batch to respond, 25% chose remote and 75% in person, but then they changed to requiring masks and word is more people are choosing remote now that and because masks are required. lol. People have said that to. Went from sending kids in, to not, because they'd have to wear a mask.

Absolutely pissed CA is closed again. We had a ONE DAY spike July 8th with deaths probably carried over from 4th of July weekend and that was Newsom's excuse to close.
Cases are going up and our death rate remains relatively the same as the last 3 months.
CA 17.7 deaths per 100k vs NY 277 per 100k.
Let the political chit show continue.

I think the problem isn't so much that they don't want masks, but that many children don't understand and just want to rip that crap off. My 3 year old is like that. My 2 year old is somehow pretty good about it tho. I imagine getting 3 calls a week to pick of your kid cos he's not wearing a mask isn't an ideal situation...

You’re one off. We took care of smallpox.
Listening to people saying not to open up until a cure is found makes me wish another virus that actually has some punch to it comes and kills us all.
And thank you Newsom for closing down Cali again. He has our best interests in mind and we should trust him.*No bulge because micropenis crew*

At this point there's absolutely nothing that can convince me that further shut downs aren't 100% political and has zero to do with "saving lives".

Yeah I seriously don't get it. Closing gyms and bars but not walmarts makes zero sense any way you look at it. At this point just do everything you can to minimize overloads of hospitals and make the sickly and elderly stay home. So many people are going to lose their business's and houses at this point. Shutting back down isn't going to do ANYTHING. Do they have any plans besides shutting down again? Any? I mean we need to shoot for herd immunity at this point and proactively get people on HCQ as soon as we can.

"Completely eradicated" is a really high threshold though.
What do you consider for, say, Polio? OG SARS? Tetanus? Rabies? The MMR triumvirate?
What do you think the "need a cure" people would say and do if covid-19 became as prevalent in the US (and other developed nations) as polio?Last edited by Farley1324; 07-13-2020 at 04:59 PM.

Schools gotta deal with Karen's tho and the fact that precious Jimmy with allergies is at risk when Tommy doesn't wear his mask right at recess....
I mean half the adults I'm coming across have a problem with it, imagine a teacher dealing with it lol. Kids aren't known for total compliance....Virtue is its own reward.

Droplets vs. Aerosol study.
A good read.
https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...rticle/2768396
All told, current understanding about SARS-CoV-2 transmission is still limited. There are no perfect experimental data proving or disproving droplet vs aerosol-based transmission of SARS-CoV-2. The balance of evidence, however, seems inconsistent with aerosol-based transmission of SARS-CoV-2 particularly in well-ventilated spaces. What this means in practice is that keeping 6-feet apart from other people and wearing medical masks, high-quality cloth masks, or face shields when it is not possible to be 6-feet apart (for both source control and respiratory protection) should be adequate to minimize the spread of SARS-CoV-2 (in addition to frequent hand hygiene, environmental cleaning, and optimizing indoor ventilation).Life is easy when you take personal responsibility

Why not make it delivery only? Boost a growing business model as well as keeping people gathered in large stores? Make all the other business's suffer, im sure walmart can figure out a way to make it work. Essential items only as well such as toilet paper food etc. I get your point, but I think they could change it a bit.

...why not pass a law that says you must pay more money for your groceries by paying for delivery (it's not free)?
...because many people would scoff at a law that makes basic groceries cost more. Because not everybody lives where delivery even exists. Because there aren't enough delivery drivers even where it does exist to support them and only them going to the store and nobody else being allowed in.
Trying to compare closing grocery stores to closing gyms, as you were, is even more fuking retarded than when you ban bet we'd have fewer than 6,500 deaths by September. You just gotta stop
