    What foods have you given up or not eaten in over a year?

    As I strive to make healthy, nutritious choices over what I eat, when I do eat something less than "wholesome" I make sure it's something I really, really enjoy. With that in mind, there's quite a few foods I haven't eaten in almost 2 years because I consider them a waste of calories and used to eat them for the sake of it, rather than enjoy them. Here's my list:

    Lamb doner kebab
    Meat pastry pie
    Thick base pizza
    Pasta (never did like much, only ate it because the wief did)
    Microwave ready meals
    Garlic bread
    Potato chips (crisps)

    List the foods you used to eat, but haven't eaten in over a year

    There's literally nothing I don't eat purely because of calories....

    But, for fun, here are some things I used to enjoy but don't eat anymore (unless it's eating out and it's an ingredient in a fish) because I just don't crave them specifically, so I don't buy them, or in some cases I don't like them now.

    - Butter
    - Dairy Milk
    - Beef Burgers
    - Bacon (pork version)
    - Lamb
    - Duck
    - McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King... almost any fast food place
    - Wonder Bread
    - non-diet Soda
    - Alcohol (been about a year now)
    - Fruit Juice

    Just to clarify, when I said I don't eat certain foods because I consider them to be a waste of calories, what I meant is there are many other things I would rather eat instead (one way or another there's only so much we can eat in a day).

    Some interesting findings though; I don't eat much chocolate or McDonalds but can't imagine never eating them again!

    Alcohol is one I'd forgotten about. I went from around 1-2 beers a year, to not drinking at all, and I don't miss it one bit.

    Believe it or not, this would be just about my EXACT list. I would just extend it to poultry in general (only "meat" I ever eat is fish). I also still drink alcohol.

    I guess I just don't think this way. I'll eat anything if I like it and I like variety. I'm not a fan of shellfish, but never have been. I wouldn't have a way of knowing what I haven't eaten in a year.

    I know exactly what you mean - I can only have so many calories every day and am pretty selective with them, especially when cutting.

    I haven't given up any food 100% because of calories/nutrition - but one thing that I actually love but rarely let myself eat are fruit/sour gummy candy, e.g. sour worms, sour patch kids, gummy worms, etc. I love that chit but it's literally pure sugar and zero protein or anything good so I have it maybe once/twice a year as a treat.

    But there's lots of food I don't eat - not because of the calories per say, but because there's other foods I like more and would rather 'spend' the calories on that.

    Same here. I bought some special non-stick pans for cooking eggs without oil, and I also use them for frying chicken without oil (I add some lemon juice if it starts to become a bit dry).

    But I can't say I haven't bought or used oil in over a year, because I make the crispiest roast potatoes you've ever tasted on Xmas Day, New Year's Day and Easter Sunday.

    But there's lots of food I don't eat - not because of the calories per say, but because there's other foods I like more and would rather 'spend' the calories on that.
    Yeah, chocolate is my nemesis. I used to eat 500-1000 calories worth every evening at one stage. I still limit myself now and ask people not to buy it me for Easter and Xmas otherwise I would slip back into my old ways.

    What I do now though is buy a pack of Reece's peanut butter cups, or some form of chocolate that can be divided up easily. I'll then have a small amount with a cup of coffee before my workout - my rocket fuel lol.

    The only food I never eat is bananas because I hate the smell and taste. That said, there's a pretty big list of foods I rarely eat because they're not worth the calories to me, including:

    Most kinds of candy
    Donuts
    Non-diet soda
    Pork crackling
    Cheap chocolate
    Cheap pastries, meat pies etc
    Crisps/potato chips
    Sugary breakfast cereals
