    Struggling to bulk

    Hi

    hoping someone can help me.. I'm trying to bulk.. I'm eating 5 meals aday including taking whey protein. But I'm not putting any weight on at all. My weight stays the exact same. Iv been trying to bulk for the past 6 weeks. But my weight stay around 83kg.
    Any advice?. I'm eating things like pasta, fish, chicken, potatoes, oats.

    Eat more. You’re obviously not eating as much as you think you are.

    Drop the whey and add in a carb/fat source for note calories. Better yet, add spoonful of peanut butter, use milk instead of water and blend it. Add a banana more even more calories.

    Do you know how many calories you burn daily? Do you know how many calories you're taking in daily? Without understanding those two values you'll likely make very little progress. If you want the easy way to do it without tracking calories: add more daily calories until you are consistently gaining 1lb a week. Example: if one PB&J sandwich extra a day doesn't help, then add 2. Or simply add other foods you enjoy to add extra calories daily.

    Alternatively, you could go to the nutrition forum on this website and read the threads at the top of the page where you can learn about the basics of nutrition and how to properly plan a diet to fit your goals.

    Thanks for the reply lads. I'll try eat more. Any tips on good meals to eat. I'm currently eating about 3500 cals aday.

    You're not gaining weight while eating a certain calorie amount for 6 weeks. What does that tell you about how much you're burning?

    It’s easy to add calories to the same meals you’re eating. A tablespoon of olive oil to chicken, a table spoon of any kind of nut butter eaten, drinking a glass of whole milk with breakfast. Just add a little and see where you land.

    3500 might not be enough for you. Try bumping it up at least another 500. Now is the perfect time to put on size since we're all in lockdown. More sleeping and eating!! .

    I have great trouble gaining weight too, I have to eat what I feel is a ridiculous amount of food to gain just a modest amount of weight.
    I put it down to having a lot of energy I'm always on the go, don't sit down for long plus my job is physical too.
    The good side to this is, probably like you I don't get fat but the bad side it holds me back getting bigger muscle wise.
    Everyone else has said the same thing, just try your best and eat more.
    Tennis balls?...........my Biceps are as big as Grapefruits!
