Who makes the best plate loaded machines?

I've become quite a fan of plate loaded machines, I've owned several powertec pieces and enjoyed them all. I'm not well versed in this area so I was wondering what your opinions are on which companies I should look into.

    Cybex
    Hammer strength
    Nebula
    Flex
    TK Star
    Prime

Depends on what machine you want. Old school cybex hack squat is the hack you can get.

It's subjective, no one company makes the best machine for every body part,, or every body type.

Of the machines I've used, Hammer Strength, Legend, Cybex and Panatta have impressed me, but there are many more highly regarded machines out there that I' haven't had the opportunity to try, Prime/Strive and Atlantis come to mind.

totally agree and if it’s suits you the user. Several pieces that on paper are amazing I’ve used and hated them as they hurt me. Nautilus pullover springs to mind instantly. Hammer strength shoulder press popular piece but annoys my shoulders.

The list was drawn up by forum member HealthNutMD, many other members have contributed to the thread, but I've always assumed the final decision to add a particular piece was made by HealthNutMD.

To be fair he's spent time travelling the globe trying out equipment and has made a great job of restoring and modifying equipment no longer being manufactured, but of course these things are subjective, for the most part I agree with his choices, but I've only tried about 40% of the equipment on the list.

    Edit

Having reviewed the list, I reckon I've only used about 20% of the equipment, it's a very long list, lol.

I was always fan of hammer strength but haven't been to a commercial gym in many years so i don't know what else is new out here.
I have the powertec counter balance pull up/dip machine which i like but could be better with bar configuration but functions actually very well.

I just spent more than most would have to get my hands on my very own Hammer Strength FWADJ bench. Their MTS Ab machine is awesome.

I have one and absolutely love it. The slight decline and the lumbar support are two of my favorite things on it. I'm planning on doing a full restoration sometime.
