Im 18 y/o 5'7 157lbs and no idea what bf% but im built skinny fat. Ive been lifting consistently for about 4 months alternating diets because I wasn't sure whether to bulk or cut. For the past 4 weeks ive been lifitng hard 5 days a week and doing hiit 2 days a week while eating around 200-300 under maintenance and lost about 4 pounds. Should I continue that or stick to strictly bulking or cutting. any advice on diet and exercise would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advanced

You can try recomping - but you have to be objective with your performance. If you aren't consistently getting better in your lifting (doing more reps with the same weight or adding weight) continuously then you need to run discrete mass gain and fat loss phases.
We always recommend prioritising mass gain in these situations because it takes the longest and has the biggest impact. People such as yourself always seem to get fixated on the fat loss part without realising that they aren't going to look shredded anytime soon, they'll just shrink and be a smaller version of their current self. Gain mass first before trying to get shredded.

Heres what you do. You eat when you are hungry..lets keep it simple . Eat chickens fish n ur protein hit ur proteins... That is phucking important.. Right now dont worry about cut and bulk.. Ur only mission is TO lift heavy stuff snd progress on your lifts reps sets weight. If your lifts arent increasing.. Which i doubt it if you Push yourself since you are a novice lifter.. But if it Will happen then maybe a little surplus would be Good. Forget about that fat loss thing.. Ur not gonna look like Tyler durden for now.
