Zoom is super easy to figure out. You can turn off video, mute yourself when not speaking, and even have a virtual background. You can use your computer's webcam or an external. Same with a microphone. Just get in there and play around with it prior to the meeting. Seriously. Couldn't be simpler. I'm a tech retard.

What Jay said. How far are they going, to earn that $10k?
As for doing it yourself, body work is one thing and I’d get some dummy scrap doors or something to practice on first before touching the car. It will give you an idea if you are any good at it, at least. Paint? That’s an art. I wouldn’t attempt that on my own.Squats and Maple syrup son. Squats and Maple syrup.

Yep, video and audio. As mentioned, there are a lot of options. I just use my built in microphone and camera though. I don't do enough of them to justify any fancy external camera/microphone. In fact, they have a mobile app for both iOs and Android, so again, super simple.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Gix depends on what you want from the car.
If you want a driver and something to spend time with in the garage/learn on then I would dive in and see how things go, bodywork isn't rocket science. If you need proof of that talk to body guys. Buy a little gas shielded mig if you don't have one, there are all sorts of videos on metalwork to watch and learn. If you are diving in buy fastener kits, dont dick around trying to salvage every little nut and clip.
https://www.opgi.com/sheet-metal-bod...o-fe21800.html
If you want a show piece when you are done then someone else is doing the work, but at the very least you can do all the dummy labour yourself. If you have the time there's no reason to pay a body place $100/hr shop rate to remove grills and headlights and strip old paint. I know a few car builders through family, most of them do as much as they can and then get someone else to finish sand, shoot, then wet sand.
Time is something you have to be honest with yourself on too. If a $10k bill from a bodyshop is 70% labour, then its 700 hrs at a $100 shop rate. 2-3 hrs a session 5 nights a week tying up a garage bay for a calendar year.
Its fun to daydream and online shop for speed parts but its always more time than people think. Money wise you are always better buying someone else's showpiece, let them take the inevitable financial loss.------♥♥-----

It's pretty user friendly. You may want to install the Zoom.us app before the interview - I think it makes muting, ensuring you're visible, etc. a little easier than dialing in from your computer. You are muted when the icon shows a red slash line on the icon, and if you're joining a call and not hosting, it's likely the host has the default to mute everyone on.
It might make sense to try it out a few times on different devices to test what works best. I'm around later this afternoon if you want to try it out, just PM me. Good luck with your interview!

I just had a remote interview yesterday using Microsoft Teams. No hiccups at all but one of my interviewers said that another person interviewing had a ton of issues and they had to do it over facetime. My wife used Zoom for a lot of meetings and she liked it better than teams

All good points. My goal is to no lose money on it. To be able to sell it whenever and get at least my money back out of it. I have no plans on making it a show car. Just a fun toy to cruise around in on the weekends that doesn't look like something Joe Dirt would drive.
After more review, I've got new front fenders, hood is in great shape too. So the body work is mainly the rear panels and roof. I'm considering buying new rear panels and putting a vinyl top on it to save time on the roof.
Similar to this
Which would be advantageous because the roof and rear panels are a solid piece of sheet metal and when buying new rear panels it's just the lower portion so you would have to cut it in anyway.
This is the paint scheme I'm ultimately going for

I think you're on the right track. Dont get emotionally attached to the thing, and the second it looks like its going to drag you under you can divest.
When I had less money and more time I liked picking a weekend project at a time. You can do a hood swap and realignment in a weekend, you can bench rebuild a rear end in a weekend, and swap a rear end the next weekend.
Rear quarters seem to be pretty easy as long as you are meticulous and patient, get everything square and weld/cool slow to reduce warping. At least that explains why mine always looked like crap. Pickups weren't bad, but the sail panels and rear quarters on fox bodies I always struggled with.------♥♥-----

Thanks guys. Gonna give it a whirl this weekend. Turned out the wife used it a little a couple months ago and we'll be able to test it out at home.
Heard before all this she was already singing like a bird, hopefully they already have what they need.#sunyourballs

Thanks for the advice guys. I've got a front disc brake kit and front end suspension for the first couple projects. Not doing any paint work until I'm done with brake fluid.Toxic Masculinity

Back patio is finally finished.
Putting a pork butt on the smoker for pulled pork this weekend, first time trying. Do you guys rub the night before, or in the AM when you throw them on?
Current plan is to put it on at 5, spritz every couple hrs, wrap it at 160, then into the cooler at 200.
No company over for the first one, want to see how this turns out.------♥♥-----

I'm going crazy today. Day off of course and the next week off. I planned on it being a staycation. Go to the less populated beaches, the springs, do a little Home Depot/Lowes shopping and just chill out. Therefore I did not make a plan to do any house projects/chores or even do much with my art/website.
But today, with no plan and thunderstorms all around, I want to do nothing but with all these things to do, it's driving me nuts. I'm almost 100% positive I have ADHD without the H. Just never been checked for it because of my job.
Therefore, I'm gonna play Xbox all day and night."Milk is for babies. When you grow up you have to drink beer." - Arnold

I've got two 8lb butts in the smoker currently.
How I prep them:
Score the fat cap.
Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt per lb of meat and rub in. Let sit on a grate on a baking sheet for about 2 hours until salt has been absorbed into the meat (dry brining)
Use fingers to coat exterior with light coat of water. Apply rub (use a latex or similar glove so rub spreads without sticking to your hand/fingers)
Back onto grate and cover with plastic wrap and let set up overnight.
Once smoker is ready go right from fridge to smoker. Starting with cold meat helps build better smoke ring
Spritz with apple juice every hour or two until the stall.
Once through the stall resume the spritzingMFC

Rub night before.
On smoker for 4-5 hours @ 180-225. Remove and put into pan. Rub honey and SPG (salt, pepper, garlic). Add about 1 cup apple juice to the bottom of the pan. Seal top with saran wrap then tinfoil.
Back on smoker for another 4-5 hours at 225. Get in to at least 204 internal temp, but won't kill you if it hits 210.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

yeah im looking at option. PSVue obviously shut down, and i havent replaced it since. Havent really...missed anything....but here and there i want some live TV for sports and such. Sad thing is now cord cutting isnt getting cheaper. Basic internet everywhere here and where im moving to is like 49.99 or so, then add in youtube tv or sling and youre in the $100 ball park. So the difference is shrinking. Probably makes sense for families but right now for me it's borderline.MFC

Packers at my house. Full chaos.
Issues with acquiring drivers these days apparently. Might end up with the packing company moving all my stuff to their warehouse until they can get a truck and driver. Horrible scenario. That's when your stuff gets lost and broken....and no telling when you will get it. Similar situation with shipping two cars.
