how did he do that? I accidentally broke my sons leg when he was 2, I was cutting the grass on a riding mower and didn’t see him, he came out to find me
I backed up and pinned it against a tree, broke the non weight bearing bone
Felt bad man
My poor daughter has horrible teeth genetics, always getting cavities even though her hygiene is great
We see an endodontist today, they offer some drugs to relax her for her root canal next week
This creepo said I could just leave my inebriated daughter with him and do some shopping while we wait
Fuk that, I’ll be right next to her

Mildly displaced spiral tibial fracture is what the doc said. I feel kinda chitty since it happened yesterday but I thought it would be best to wait and see if it got better overnight. It wasn't swollen or bruised so I thought he was all good. When he still wouldn't put any weight on it this morning I had the wife take him to the doctor.
A woman I work with's grandson had the exact same injury at the same age about 6 months ago. 8 weeks in a boot/cast and he was all good after that. Hopefully its the same for my son. The little guy just doesn't slow down. He's only 2 and in the past 6 months he's already had to get 5 stitches over his eye(slipped in the bathtub while on my watch), his forehead glued shut (ran into a nightstand while my wife was watching him while I was at the gym) and now a broken leg(jumping on the trampoline). CPS is probably gonna pay me a visit soon...
Jesus Christ... I remember reading a story about a dentist that would grope sedated women. Chit makes my skin crawl. Sorry to hear about the teeth genetics. The good news is that veneers are pretty affordable now days and they can even correct the size and shape of the teeth if you need it. My mom got hers for like 3k since insurance agreed to pay half since she needed other dental work done.
My son hurt his leg on his trampoline with one of the neighbor kids while my mother in law was watching himLast edited by TBO1313; 06-26-2020 at 01:04 PM.

Gix, my son has a great swing and an arm on him, he would be great at baseball
I asked him if he wants to play, he said no, and that’s the end of it for me
Kinda relieved, those all weekend tournaments sound like ass
Was pumped to get him in full pads this year but covid put the breaks on that
He is 5’3, 110 lbs and one of the fastest players on his last few football teams
And he has a big ass headDallas Cowboys

You want him to play football instead of baseball?
I started playing full pads tackle football at 9 years old but with all the CTE stuff now days I'm not sure its a good idea unless your good enough to get your school paid for with it. I'm still gonna let him play if he wants to but probably won't push him to play it. Getting your dink knocked in the dirt/knocking someones dink in the dirt at a young age will definitely build character though. I'm hoping my son likes basketball (the one I was best at) or baseball. I'm for sure coaching football or basketball if he plays one of those. I was decent at baseball, made all star travel teams and stuff, but I quit that at 12 so I doubt I'd be qualified. I wish they had some greco roman wrestling where I live. I loved it but when I moved to a new state in 8th grade my new school didn't have a team for that6'2"

Oh man. I feel your pain.
Both girls played softball and it's no better on the girls side. I was lucky enough to get dragged into coaching right off the bat. I was just "help" for the head coach. Thank god we had the same mindset going into it. However, we ran across all kinds of coaches and parents.
Both girls moved on to volleyball which is ONLY travel teams available (outside of school). There is no rec league. I think my youngest is done with sports even though she's physically built for it better than the older one. She doesn't have the mindset for it though as she's too afraid to fail right now. Not sure how I'm going to get her out of that mindset without sports. You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

Oof. I never broke a bone as a kid, if that happened to one of mine I'd probably cht.
F--- that man. One thing I've realized over the years is that dentists are usually a combination of creepy, cheap, and frauds. Rare to find a good one
How did you guys get your kids into sports? I know it's all the rage now to get them into sports to "learn teamwork" early or how to get along with other kids but part of me just think that's a meme. My folks were never really into sports and I decided to on my own and they were good with it. I think I want to take the same approach, let them decide on his own. I had a conversation with my buddy who has a 10 year old whose mom really pushes him in hockey...asked him the same question and he kinda said it's more about the parents than the kids.
Anyway, tho, my 4.5 year old is pretty good at contact with his whiffle bat and seems to take to soccer/hockey in goal, but he really displayed good form clearing out his sister from a toy he wanted to play with like this:

I'm feeling this lately, weird part of this 'senior management of a publicly traded multinational' job is you see a bit of that side of the coin.
I sat on a conference call with finance and capital guys for a big US infrastructure project and listened to a bit of CEO/Bank exec small talk, and they really do see regular people as livestock. They earn their money off the back of 9500 people, and are so completely sure of the value of their input and so completely detached from the reality of the work its enraging.
Every level 1 down keeps their mouth shut, they just want some of that gravy on their taters. Everyone at my level just wants to keep the peace with the top execs, because they want their turn at the tough once the top circle ages out. Causing a bit of personal crisis thinking about it.
Jesus thats a nightmare. Kids heal like wolverine though, hopefully it goes quick.
My best friend had a similar thing happen, hes as cautious as anyone but kids just appear out of thin air some times. Pulling a trailer around his acreage behind a little garden tractor, wound up breaking his daughters foot.
Stay frosty Papa bear.
Neither of my kids had much interest or ability in early sports, I feel kinda lucky that I dodged the hockey bullet.
We have close friends that have straight up vanished once their kids strapped on the skates, they are in hockey every night and weekend 9 months a year, and in camps and training the rest of the time.------♥♥-----

I like titties
So I couldn't pass up a deal on a 72 Chevelle. Has a nice rebuilt 350 in it, good bones, interior is mostly complete but the sheet metal is pretty rough. Not a lot of rust other than the the rear wheel wells. But the previous owner must have taken a grinder to it to try and remove the old paint and then did a DIY pant job over the top. Looks...ok from a distance but needs lots of work up close.
Took it to a local paint guy and to get it to showroom quality would be around $10k which would take it down to the metal and all the body work + paint. I could save a lot of money if I chemically strip it down myself and get a good start on the body work. So the question is for those who have done body work, do I attempt to do this myself? I'm not looking for showroom quality but want it to look good. I'm hesitant to drop $10k on a paint job because I'm treating this as an investment and ultimately make some money on it.Last edited by gixxer0.6g; 07-01-2020 at 07:30 AM.

Any of you guys been using Zoom for conference calls during the shutdown, or otherwise (Retoaded, Red?)? Have an interview with an all remote company using Zoom, haven't scheduled it yet. I don't want to come off like a total noob, any input is appreciated.
I thought I saw an old car in one of those pics you posted a few pages back. I don't think I'd take on a project like this by myself. I did an engine swap with my dad when I was 20 and might take that on again with an old car but I'd be hesitant with prepping bodywork. You might check around for a friend of a friend who knows a guy who is a hobbyist and can do it for cheap, or maybe there's a local tech school that will do it for the cost of supplies. My old Mustang has been sitting in my garage for long enough now that I ought to think about repainting it soon and I'd probably just go with whatever bare bones prep they can do and pay them.#sunyourballs

Are you talking about complete strip and re-paint? As in, pull the hood & fenders off, strip interior, media blast and start fresh? That seems like a decent price actually. I would have them spell out what they plan on doing and cut/add what you want done.
Have done a few Zoom meetings. It's not ideal, but gets the job done for the most part. The program is easy to operate. You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
