    Talking Why Don't More People Get Results From Training? (srs)

    I know so many people who try to get "into fitness," losing fat or bulking up for the sloots, and fall flat on their face.

    My cousin who's skinny fat and has rich parents hired a PT last September. You'd think he'd be shredded by now, he's always posting Instas of him at the gym and his routines, as well as the protein bars he's bought. Nope, he still has almost exactly the same figure and not many strength gains. Offered him advice but he'd rather do what the PT says (which is mostly bodyweight routines and cable work but some legit stuff tbf). He said he was doing both weights and functional exercises. I have never seen him lifting an actual weight on Insta outside some weighted sit ups. He says his main goal is to get a six pack. He already claims to be a "fitness fanatic" in his lengthy posts, despite being strong DYEL status and having a bit of a gut.

    A lot of my mates (both male and female) joined a pay as you go course at the gym over New Years, they said they even got advice on macros etc. and are sticking to diet. Recently, with lockdown on, the trainer who runs that posted a #TBT with before and after pics of each person on the course. They looked the exact fukking same as before. I commented asking for stats sarcastically and got blocked ayyy.

    Why do so many people like to claim they're in the "fitness lifestyle," going to the gym etc. but get zero results? Is it chitty routines? Or diet? Is it doing too many fancy ass "Killer XXX Toning" gym classes that make you sweat and do fukk all? Is it thinking you can buy fitness with several protein bars?

    Edit: This goes for people both bulking and cutting. I hear so many people I know swearing they eat clean, etc., Instagramming their protein powders, etc... no results.

    They don't understand what it means to actually try

    They go into the gym and put 80lbs on some random machine that doesn't do much anyway, then they never increase the weight or do anything thats challenging in any way

    Tl;dr Ain't anybody wanna lift no heavyass weight

    Lifting is mostly diet. High protein and good protein and carb sources.

    99% of people who lift dont even eat enough lean meat to gain muscle gains they just get fat and bloated from glycogen and think they look huge

    As a natural, disregarding noob gains, you can only build muscle if you have BOTH a calorie surplus and progressive overload. Both those things require conscious sustained effort for most people. It's impossible, disregarding noob gains, to build muscle naturally if you have not consumed more calories than your body needs to maintain its current weight. Does not matter how hard you train otherwise.

    A lot of what already has been stated are good reasons people dont normally see results but the #1 reason IMO is... lack of commitment & consistency! You can half ass it as a noob but still see some kind of results if you are at the very least consistent. And by consistent I mean actually getting off of your a$$ and training 4-5 days a week...

    Past noob gains is when diet , genetics , training methods , intensity etc. etc...really start coming into play to push you past "average"

    Most people don’t eat right. Strength gains for me went through the roof when I started eating more.
    Kinda overdid it though and got fat but still eating right (small surplus) is key.

    Because most spend more time on their phones than actually training. If you take like 5 minute breaks between sets you will never make gains and that's what most people do.

    1. Lack of a decent training program.
    People either just want to do what they want to do rather than wanting to learn what a good program is... or they go to f45 or they hire a pt he's been taught a bunch of nonsense. And sometimes that's unfortunate because they thought they were signing up to learn how to train effectively and then just got taught nonsense, but then again any PT who just coaches generic "good training" will have done a lot of consultations with people who'll tell them "that's not what I want".

    2. ****ing around with nonsense dietary fads instead of just practicing hitting appropriate intakes. or just not paying any attention to their eating habits at all. or a cycle of over-restriction followed by bingeing & excess.
