    Yes and no. He does recommends a gallon of milk a day, but only for the following groups:
    1) Teenagers, who want to reach a certain weight for football/wrestling or some other sport they are competing in.
    2) Lifters, who have failed to gain weight for quite an amount of time.
    Even than it's not hailed as part of an ideal diet and more of a trick for people not counting calories/watching their nutrition in general. It's also only for a couple of weeks.

    The actuall paragraph is more like: Oh you claim you cannot gain weight no matter what you eat? Drink a gallon of milk per day for 6 weeks than report back.

    His new podcast series is only like a year old or so and this new wave of content seems like a post backlash response to the troll and meme comments he has encountered and been triggered by over the last few years lol.

    If you look at it as half fitness science half Alex Jones vibes (as far as the frustration) it’s actually super entertaining. He keeps mixing in obscurely insightful erudite fitness terms with old-fashioned high-test Boomer from Texas dynamics back and forth.

    I never knew he was making these lately until I saw it on my YouTube recommended lmao it’s a goldmine.

    Listened to every one of his podcasts. Veggans= mental disorder, comments from the haters, etc. All hilarious. I find them hilarious, and at the same time informative. Keep in mind the following:

    1. If you are a bodybuilder, you probably don't want to listen to 90 percent of what he says.

    2. His reason for existence is to increase the force someone can apply with their muscles against resistance. Literally everything else is (clearly) secondary.

    3. He is old and cantankerous, and clearly doesn't give a **** what you think of him

    4. At the same time I am not entirely sure he even takes himself seriously.

    Overall, his podcasts are an entertaining listen for various reasons.


    If you want to listen to a good strength coach, listen to Dan John's podcasts. Way better info that rip for the everyday person, doesn't focus on one thing, is realistic and overall is just an actually likeable dude.

    Can he prove any health problems related to a plant only diet or he's just arguing theory? I can tell you that there is more than ample proof on how meat isn't that good for you and had side effects, especially red meat.

    Mark Rippetoe is a genius when it comes to coaching the squat, deadlift, bench press and overhead press, but he's a complete phucking idiot when it comes to most other topics.

    My mind is blown at how a person can be so clear, coherent and spot on when talking about coaching cues and proper lifting mechanics, yet turn into a complete, rambling phucking idiot once the conversation veers off into nutrition or weightlifting or training for athletes. It boggles my fukking mind sometimes.

    To be fair, there was some kind of coordinated online attack on the guy in the past 4 months or so. Dunno if Rippetoe ran over some guy's dog or what, but it seems like one guy spam-posted anti-SS or anti-Rippetoe threads on all of the fitness message boards.


    Few things people don't seem to understand:

    1) Starting Strength is not meant to be a multi-year long program. You're not supposed to stay on it - its for like 3-5 months. In that context, for a beginner its a great program.

    2) the GOMAD recommendation was for a narrow group of lifters
