You say that now, but I'm pretty sure if they did you would be a lot more depressed than you are now, though the drugs might numb you to it. Why are you taking depression meds?

Been having problems for years. Social isolation, ignoring school/work, etc. Idk what came first at this point, but I've almost certainly got some combination of depression/anxiety disorder/ADHD. I was prescribed something originally for insomnia but after a week of that (it fixed insomnia basically instantly, but its been getting less effective at helping me sleep) the dose was raised and I'm trying it for an additional 4 weeks to see if it helps

    Exercise as much as possible.

    Go outside, get fresh air.

Do anything to keep your mind off thoughts - read, play video games etc.

MOST IMPORTANT ADVICE - IF AFTER THE IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD THEY ARE NOT WORKING OR MAKING YOU FEEL WORSE FOR WHATEVER REASON TELL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT SIT ON THEM FOR MONTHS FEELING LIKE CHIT, IT'S VERY RARE THE FIRST ONES WORK AND THE QUICKER YOU CHANGE THE QUICKER YOU CAN FEEL GOOD AGAIN AND START LOVING YOUR LIFE. (source: me).

Didn't mean the caps bit to be that long but I wish someone had told me that chit.

You say it helped your insomnia, is it Mirtazapine? Im on mirt for anxiety and insomnia, been on it for a year, it definitely helped. I was never really depressed just had anxiety and panic my whole life. I feel like im gonna have to go on an SSRI at some point though. I hope the meds work for you brah. If you ever need someone to talk with shoot me pm.

    What are your test levels?

I see so many people with low t levels hopping on these terrible drugs when they could likely change their lives and their depression by going on TRT.
Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.

thing is meds are cheaper then TRT and a lot of doctors dont want to give that out cuz it pretty much makes you human 2.0

I'm done sitting on things. If it doesn't work I'm asking for other stuff.

It is mirtazapine. How long do you think before it helped with your anxiety?

3.74ng/mL = 374ng/mL(the units used on the previous tests. And probably the unit you are familiar with if you are familiar with test levels)

Here are my previous results from a different medical system

Anecdotally I remember being happier during the time it was highest, but I was also just coming out of a low period.

If you go to one of those anti-aging trt clinics they tell you that they want your levels to be between 800-1200. Your levels are considered "normal" by regular standards though.

But I'd do that before taking any other medication. But that's just me.

anti aging clinics don't generally take 22 year old patients. Not to my knowledge anyway

The best investment you can make if you're experiencing symptoms of a major depressive episode is get some quality cognitive behavior therapy and focus on behavioral activation.

When you're depressed, you inevitably stop engaging in activities that brought you fulfillment and a sense of mastery. This in turn reinforces your symptoms an then you fall in that cycle. Push yourself to accomplish things even if you don't feel like it, even if you have to drag yourself kicking and screaming, and even if you have absolutely no motivation at all. After a while, the motivation will come AFTER, which may seem counter intuitive.

I work in this field. Don't rely on anti-depressant meds to cure you. At best they act as a temporary bandaid and may give you a bit of a motivation boost so you can start getting back into your activities again.

I haven't had any activities other than school and video games in years.

I recently joined the rifle team at my school, but yeah thats canceled for the foreseeable future.

Kinda of a **** time to be dealing with this tbh. I'm stuck staying with my **** dad and I can't leave. (sublet my apartment to save money during the pandemic)
I get that I have to get into things. I guess I was hoping there was going to be some short term fix I could use for a couple weeks.

I mean yeah alcohol but I don't want to trade one problem for another

Yeah, this is a tough time for sure. I'd encourage you to find activities you can pursue in your home or on your property. It doesn't have to be anything big, just something you can get excited about trying.
