America is in alot of trouble, the reality is April 30th likely still isn't realistic, especially for places like NYC and other places that will have an inevitable break out.
They will make a cost benefit call at April 30 because this virus is nowhere near done, stay closed and see a depression or open up, get the hospitals propped up over April and accept people will die (or perhaps quarantine of elderly citizens only)

yeah but key players in his base tried to hold his feet to the fire about those dates. it aint worth throwing aspirational dates out there. it's not like it uplifts the nation. at this point we're in hell and 4/30 doesnt make us feel any better

This is the true definition of feels over facts.
From the very beginning of this sh*tshow, Trump has been operating based on what he feels is going to happen, despite the facts saying otherwise. And now were paying for it.
April 30th deadline is going to get extended to May 30thMIKE TYSON: "When you see me smash somebody's skull, you'll enjoy it."
"I try to catch him right on the tip of the nose, because I try to push the bone into the brain."
"It's ludicrous these mortals even attempt to enter my realm."
"I can sell out Madison Square Garden masturbating"
"I'll f**k you till you love me f**got!"
"I just want to conquer people and their souls"

You can say what you want about his date being firm or not. Your interpretation might even be fair. But declaring a date at all, much less such a close date was incredibly ignorant for a guy who values the markets. The unfortunate thing is apparently it was economists who might've pushed him to do it.
On Sunday, the White House convened a conference call with roughly a dozen business leaders, in addition to conservative economist Stephen Moore, whose nomination to the Fed was universally panned and who has asked questions like “Think of the human suffering, from the, in terms of the lost income, the lost life savings—is that worth it, to deal with this?” In an interview with Bloomberg, Moore recalled that “All but maybe one or two of the 12 or so people on the call were saying we’ve got to urge the president to go to the country to have some kind of date certain to have the economy up and running again because the devastation is too severe.” He added that it was his brilliant idea to dub Easter an “economic resurrection day,” offering the extremely scientific take that “There is a kind of important symbolic importance of that date. It’s a date everyone knows, everyone has their eye on Easter. It’s an appropriate time.”
