the NP in this thread is so ****en incensed at MDs because he couldn't get an interview to a Caribbean lmfao. We get it, you're a masters degree holding nurse and you'll never be at the level of an MD.

I can confirm NP training is a joke. It's basically shadowing a doc or another NP. Most schools are online as well. Will never allow a NP see my family members.

No one in this thread has degraded nurses. Nurses provide a very valuable service and I’d agree that our healthcare system would collapse without them.

The point is that an RN and an MD are not the same, and RNs taking over aspects of healthcare that MDs perform is concerning from a patients perspective

I don't see the point in wondering about NP's performing surgeries as that's what trained surgeons are for, we do everything else.

MD's are paid a lot more money generally speaking and depending on what practice you work in because of the title. That's where the extra years will come in outside of general medicine and care.

Alternatively yes, you can become an NP with a little less time spent and practice that care with the same legal power. That doesn't make one better or worse than the other. It's not cope.

I can't speak for absolute current nursing programs as I went through long before a lot of online came into play, although I do know they're pushing for DNP degrees instead of my MSN now. PhD's in nursing are also common.

I've seen a lot of weird posts and hate on the misc about RN's and genuinely don't understand it, CNA's through ARNP's are the backbone of the healthcare workforce in hospitals. If 3basic5me or anyone else views anything less than an MD title as some inferior trash, then I guess that's what I am, so be it.

I'm an ARNP title, yes. I don't introduce myself as "doctor" even though I technically am one because of my qualifications and degree, and could do so.
So in your first post I quoted, you say you have your MSN, but they are pushing people to get their DNP now, and you frequently say ITT you are an ARNP. Do you have your DNP degree as well, or just your MSN/ARNP?

Because to be honest, if you don't have your DNP and the height of your degrees ends at MSN, you are most definitely not a doctor.
