God damn a huge 90's thread... well I'll just leave these here for people who played before WoW. You know who you are.

TGIF was GOAT. Someone above said it correctly; instant gratification and the lack of waiting is the main issue that we have today. Also, our form of texting was giving a message to a friend who would pass it to a girl. Everything was done in person not behind a screen. If you had to say something, then you said it to their face and were ready for a fight if it came to it.

We went to school having never even heard of term "school shooting". In 1999 Columbine would change that forever.
It was a time before mind altering drugs started being pushed en masse on kids and adults alike by Big Pharma.
The 90's were great for many reasons but what we were unaware of was that our masters were setting the stage for globalization and the decimation of the middle class. There were people in the know and they tried to warn us and protest it but the media portrayed them as "anarchists" and spun globalization as a great thing that we should all embrace because it would be great for all of us without ever explaining what it even was or how it would affect us.

90s was a good era of balanced life and tech.

Life was the goat in the 90s. Srs
2000-2001 was amazing as well.
I think the government wasn’t as tyrannical then either and you could just escape being spied on by simply putting a tinfoil hat on.
Not everyone is tracked via smart device and social media. They can watch every move of everybody.
Speaking of tinfoil I remember making aluminum pipes to smoke out of in the woods with my friends.
Or from a soda can... not with regularity as I needed my lungs for football and basketball then.BLM (Brock Lesnar Matters)

Today, my social circle has a pretty strict 'no phone' policy. We meet at a restaurant? Phones in our jackets, not on the table. It's so sad to see couples or families at other tables each picking up their phone between courses...presumably to message people not even there.
What the f**k is the point in meeting up with friends/family if you aren't there with them?
Human interaction as a whole was way better then - yeah, I'll state that categorically.

it's crazy times
the higher the population, the more lonely we get
the poorer you are, the more likely you are to be overweight
every year we know more about the human body yet we get unhealthier year on year
every year our quality of life declines ever so slightly. Since WWII our government have been acting in direct opposition to our best interests.....Atlas.....
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It really was the best of times. Everything back then just seemed simpler and more genuine. It's all fake now a days. People, media, social interactions. It's still a great time but I think I preferred it back then. I can't imagine how the brain develops when it's being bombarded with social media/internet culture from such a young age.
