Suggested routine for beginner during this period

    Hi all,

like everyone else pretty much stuck with the house and the outdoors (within limits/guidance), but also like everyone else, the opportunity to have some more free time and self improvement. I'd like/and need to add some exercise to my week, since right now all I'm really doing is walking the dog and sitting at home.

Im 35, about 200lbs, 6ft, so a little skinny fat, not much muscle mass, but decent amount of body fat on an otherwise slim frame if that makes sense.

Partly, I'd like to use this period to build habits of working out and doing 'something' most days. Ideal world I'd like to build muscle mass, but not sure if realistic given the situation. My general goals, not necessarily in order, or all at once.

    - Build muscle
    - lower body fat
    - General fitness (I've just generally fallen off the wagon with exercise, and feel like I just need to do 'something' to get going again.
    - Flexibility (my lack of flexibility is embarrassing).

Ideally looking for some advice, or direction on a program I could follow at home (going out running ok I guess too) for say 6-12 weeks to get my ass in gear during this period. Priority I guess as essentially a beginner would be generally improved fitness levels and habit forming. I don't have any equipment, but not opposed to getting a couple of basics if needed.

I see peloton is doing a 90 day free trial at the moment, would that be worth exploring in my position? I personally feel like I'll be more motivated if I have set program to follow rather than just having to select random workouts.

Do you have any equipment? Free weights, exercise bench, bands, etc?

I don't. Not opposed to getting some if needed, though also assume given my circumstances maybe there's plenty of bodyweight or other stuff that would get me started... though happy to be corrected!

Just start reading through this forum. There are plenty of threads by other people in your situation that want to exercise. No need to start another one.
