    Red face Do supplemement help with COVID-19?

    I'm referring to supplements like Zinc Picolinate, OptiZinc and Vitamin C. Will these in any way shape or form help the immune system fight this virus. I'd like to get an order in soon before they're sold out everywhere.

    i think zinc supplements are a bad idea because they almost invariably result in copper deficiency as a result of metallothionein sequestration of metals

    it's a far better idea to get your zinc from food (red meat)

    Okay what about Vitamin C? I've been feeling rough over the past 4 days and I've stepped up the amount of water that i drink and the quantity of fresh fruit and veg that i eat.

    If you have a vitamin/mineral deficiency then that will damage your immune system. Beyond addressing deficiencies there is no evidence that any supplement will help you. Zinc helps. but only zinc ionophores. And it has only been tested in test tubes. Not in humans yet. Trials are ongoing.


    For now just do the same things you always do to stay healthy(or always should do) + avoid other people whenever possible.

    my recommendation would be for people to take as few supplements as possible if it's plausible to get the nutrients from food

    it would be far safer to eat a lb of red meat per day
