    Cutting during sedentary period?

So due to the COVID-19, I've been quarantining. With no work, I've been about as sedentary as humanly possible. Watching movies and such. So I decided to do a non-active cut. So I'm taking 1800 cals per day. I weigh 148 lbs, and so I typically always take in atleast 148 g protein per day. But since I am SOO sedentary, can I get away with less protein per day and still maintain muscle? Like, can I take in 120 g and be fine?

How tall are you? Should you really be cutting if you weigh 148 pounds? Are you doing resistance training of some sort (if not you'll likely lose muscle while cutting)?

Why not go on walks, do chin ups, push ups, lunges, air squats, abs, band curls/rows....

this isn't a valid excuse to be lazy.

I do go on walks, do pushups, etc. But my question is theoretically, on days that I specifically want to be lazy, is it okay for me to take in like 120 g protein vs. 148 g (which is my body weight), if I am doing absolutely nothing on those days. Just imagine that I am sick with the flu or something.

Tomorrow I will be doing dips and other resistance workouts. But just for today, I didn't do a single thing. And I'm at 124 g protein. Do I really need to take one more scoop of protein powder to get me to 148 g?

Not a great time for anyone to be cutting without gym access and as Adam said you can work out outside like the rest of the USA

Eat at your TDEE is my advice, I stopped my own cut as well

    You’re 148 lbs

    Minimum would be 105g

.7g/lbs is current minimus per science

See, I thought it was a minimum of 1g/lb of body weight during cuts. .7-8g/lbs during bulking.

Well I was basing it on that you shouldn’t cut that’s why I wrote that

But yes people usually jack up protein in a energy deficit, however studies show that it made no difference

But seeing that I did literally nothing today, I'm wondering if I should take in an additional 24g protein to get me up to 148g. Or does that not matter since I didn't use my muscles at all today?

Typically, when you are physically inactive you want to preserve muscle. So you want more protein and to try and add what you can. You typically lose muscle in a cut to some extent. So being inactive due to quarantine along with cutting/caloric deficit/less protein is going to make that worse.

You don’t lose muscle that fast

You’re actually debating to have 96 calories?
