Nearly every dietary source is a "complete" protein (don't take my word for it - look it up on Cron-O-Meter and see that broc**** contains all essential amino acids), but the IAA makeups are different, which is significant.

For example, the IAA makeup between chicken and beans are similar, except Lysine is about 25% lower in beans. This is relevant because once the disproportionate particular IAA (Lysine) has been utilized, protein synthesis stops, regardless of how many other IAA's are available because the body has no use for partial proteins.

This is how the "incomplete protein" misnomer came about and is still perpetuated to this day. Sure, 1g of protein in chicken would result in a 25% higher utilization of IAA's than 1g of bean protein, but the solution is simple and most vegans do it without thinking about it.

Obviously you could just eat 25% more bean protein than chicken protein to provide you with the IAA ratio of chicken, but that's not really a practical solution, and what balanced vegans do without knowing it is just get the additional Lysine from other vegetable protein sources that are rich in Lysine, like lentils or quinoa.

The liver will store the unutilized IAA's throughout the day until the missing IAA's are introduced, so it's not necessary to complement proteins at each meal. Having beans, and other low-Lysine ratio proteins throughout the day, and then having Lysine rich foods at dinner, for example, will utilize those stored IAA's taken in during the day.

Weak leg development. The reason why they don't get injured is because they are able keep the same spine angle during the range of the lift. It's when you change from flexion to extension under a load where you snap your stuff up. That said, it's best left to those guys and just look up vids by the dudes in wolf's post for how to lift with a neutral spine.

Use a TDEE calculator to estimate your total calories required to maintain your weight and adjust intake from there. To me, it looks like you're eating at about at least a 1500 calorie deficit, which should come to 3 pounds weight loss weekly on average.

The proof is in the pudding, though, so accurately track your calories, keep a log, and see what the scale says weekly and adjust as necessary as data points converge, but even if you did no exercise, at 2700 calories daily (assuming everything is spot-on accurately accounted for) you should be losing well over a pound per week on average.

This is right. Most newbs think a heavy grunt means they're pushing their limits to bust a heavy weight for them, but in many cases it's destabilizing the core that will cause big problems later on when the weights go up if you don't fix it and make it the new normal. How many people, even trainers, think you should inhale on the way down and exhale on the way up on a squat? That breathing technique will fold you up like a lawn chair as the weights get heavier.

I don't agree that you should do HIIT training yet. If running at a casual 12:00 min pace causes your heart rate to go to 170 (what you say is 90% your max), then your cardiovascular conditioning is not yet ready for HIIT cardio.

After a clean bill from your doctor, you can do either one of two things: 1) slow down your pace to around 14:00 min, or 2) do run/walk (not HIIT run/walk).

Do your running after your lifting.

1.5 miles in 18 minutes is a 12 minute per mile pace, so you're not pushing harder on your 1 mile time.

You need to train. While you can get faster at running 1.5 miles by training 1.5 miles, it's not optimal. With only 3 weeks, you greatly risk an injury by upping the mileage necessary enough to shave the time you need to, but if you dgaf, then here's how to do it:

Base mileage:

Slow down (I know, sounds backwards), and run continuously for 3 miles. Aim for 3 miles in 40 minutes. This will begin to build your cardiovascular and running base.

Interval training:

Go to the track, warm up by jogging slowly 2 laps. Pick one of these workouts that is appropriate as your conditioning improves:

#1: Sprint fairly hard 100 meters, followed by walking 200 meters. Do that 5-10 times.

#2: Sprint fairly hard 200 meters, followed by walking 200 meters. Do that 3-6 times.

#3: Sprint fairly hard 100 meters, followed by jogging 200 meters. Do that 4-8 times.

#4: Sprint fairly hard 200 meters, followed by jogging 200 meters. Do that 3-5 times.

#5: Run hard 400 meters, followed by walking or jogging 400 meters. Do that 2-4 times.

#6: Run hard 30 seconds, followed by jogging 30 seconds. Do that 16-20 times.

#7: Run hard 40 seconds, followed by jogging 40 seconds. Do that 12-15 times.

#8: Run hard 60 seconds, followed by jogging 60 seconds. Do that 8-10 times.

#9: Sprint 20 seconds, followed by dog ass slow jog 40 seconds. Do that 4 times, and rest 1 minute. Repeat workout 3-4 times (with 1 minute rest in between).
