    Home gym sanitation

    Hey folks

Any particular disinfectant product or such that you’d recommend for a home gym? Not in regards to that virus nobody’s talking about (though I’m sure that any product will be hard to get ahold of as a result) but just for general purpose gym cleaning without destroying my nice Everroll flooring or that beautiful bench that came with the FT2.

I’ll probably pick up some kind of microfiber towel to use with it...

    Thanks for your thoughts!

I bought my flooring from RubberFlooringInc and have used their cleaner / degreaser, and everytime I clean my floor I'm amazed at how it looks brand new again. Still wish I would have purchased the speckled flooring, but the straight black looks incredible after a good cleaning. As for other products I typically use good old Lysol cleaning wipes for surfaces, gets the job done.

I just use a basic floor cleaning product on my Regupol, it always comes up well.

For general cleaning of the machines I use generic gym wipes, they come in a dispenser bucket, about 1,500 wipes per bucket, I generally just buy the cheapest.

Thanks guys. Urban, I looked at that company’s cleaning product but they don’t ship out my way, unfortunately, but I’m anyway a little worried about mopping the floor and getting excess water in the cracks between the rubber, which I laid on top a super thin “carpet” that came with the house (silly in retrospect, but I figured if I eventually sold the house it’d be better if I didn’t have to leave bare concrete there). So I think I’ll go with something like a wet swiffer on the floors.

For the equipment, I ordered a couple microfiber gym towels and read on various manufacturers’ sites that a 10% / 90% solution of mild dish soap and water in a spray bottle should do the trick. Single use wipes just feel like a pain to have to reorder regularly, and I don’t have a trash can downstairs (it’s the little things in life, but it would annoy me having to take that upstairs every day).

Its old fashioned and takes a little longer but you could use a bucket and a rag or microfiber towel. Wring the rag out as tightly as you can and you don't have to worry about excess water getting between the gaps.
