Great example of TDS misdirection. You pointed to high unemployment as a reason why Trump couldn't get reelected so I I referred to another time when high unemployment didn't prevent reelection. Im pretty sure you understand this but you preferred to reeeeeeeeeee.

I know since you lived during FDR's time in office you're a little protective l, but it wasn't my intent to compare the two

Good question, but you don't know that people have a future. It is considered in bioethics.

Fetus have a future and history, but aren't considered people because they haven't been born.

Being born is usually considered a requirement for human (edit: well, person). Like, an unborn, undying being would be 'supernatural' and inhuman.

    * people with no future, or a necessarily horrible one might be candidates for euthanasia. In wartime or certain diseases and stages.

Except in certain states where you go to jail for aborting after a certain point. And charged for double homicide for killing pregnant women. "People" is apparently arbitrary, just like is was back in slave days.

This is what ultimately will be done.

No politician in charge wants to be at the helm of an unprecedented economic collapse, not if it can be avoided with an intelligent approach to allow businesses to reopen while maintaining strict sanitary norms.

It may even be mandatory for people to wear PPE during working hours depending on the job description, that is much better than the economic apocalypse that we’re staring down right now.

My personal feeling is that we're in sort of a divine simulation...divine matrix, which explores all possibilities. There's lots of implications. I think you would want to save lives and avoid abortions...Not 100% about this yet.

Except in certain states where you go to jail for aborting after a certain point. And charged for double homicide for killing pregnant women. "People" is apparently arbitrary, just like is was back in slave days.
Indeed. Quite the legal complication! I agree people seems fairly arbitrary. Otherwise, there would be no abortion debate.

Then why is Dr. Gosnell rotting in prison right now?
I'm unfamiliar, but nearly positive this has nothing to do with it being a universally good idea to combat covid19.

Trump came along and highlighted all the problems facing America and all the corruption in both sides, and the establishment backed by the MSM have been hammering him for his entire candidacy and presidency.

Also, my point is that Trump is going to have to back down anyway on getting back to normal in anytime soon so he's just going to look like a lying idiot to everyone except the cultists who don't care what he says or does as long as it 'triggers the libs'.

This is true, but it says more about Trump's failures as a person and statesman than anything else.

A bigger man could simply set partisanship aside, work with the opposition, and give others credit for their involvement.

When the opposition wants to sell out America to foreign powers, open our borders and replace the demographics of our country to remain in power effectively forever there isn't much to by bipartisan on.

Thousands of people die as a result from suicide every recession. And that's not even a depression. Violent crime increases pushing murder rates up. Peoples entire savings become wiped out. No jobs because no one is hiring. Social unrest becomes a real possibility. Poverty kills. And would in a case of a full blown depression.

As for the rest of your post. You are just as bad as the extreme left when you refer to people wanting to get back to work and make money as "Trump cultist." Some people have bills to pay and mouths to feed, and need to be able to go back to work.

Common sense will go a long way here. Immune compromised people need to stay in doors. People that have health issues should probably sit this one out...the same way they would a bad flu season. People taking extra precautions can be done, and the economy back open for business. The cure shouldnt be worse than the virus.

Could you maybe just implement social distancing in the hot spots, and have high risk individuals isolate themselves.

This isn’t that difficult of a predicament.

Commit fully to a total quarantine lockdown for 2-3 weeks from today.

Put every possible resource into massing medical supplies/space, including tests.

Begin to reopen after that. This virus simply will not maintain an R0 > 1 during the summer. During that period, cut all the red tape, dump billions and expedite the vaccine process. If we don’t have finished by Sep, winter lockdown again.

I like this idea but it would probably be 5 weeks rather than 2 and I doubt the vaccine would be ready in time even if everyone were working on one.

Some of that red tape is needed to test if the drugs are safe and really determine that they work.

4-5 weeks might be a good idea. And the vaccine might be wishful thinking, though not an impossibility. I’m more confident in a partially effective vaccine than I am in a successful antiviral drug. Vaccines generally have less potential side effects, short and long term.

Too bad he has to take responsibility for his actions. Had he been a good leader people would excuse the situation he's in. Because he's a bad leader who tries to downplay it to win the election, people do not excuse the situation he's in.

Glad to see him in a shtty situation of his own making. The little narcissist has no way to weasel out of this one so his little bots make pouty threads like this.

Not really a catch 22 in the mind of a lib.

A lib just wants personal political power, the cost doesn't matter. Even if its the whole world crumbling.

I could support this, seems like the most reasonable compromise between keeping the economy afloat, but preventing the spread of the virus.

Yes but imo people will err on the side of the economy not tanking. Sad to say but its true we cannot allow us to fall into a recession or even depression because of this.

    This.

I fully understand that there is a point where the shut down will cause more damage than the virus. It is impossible to exactly know where that point is so our best bet is to put our faith in the POTUS who has access to all the experts and the greatest amount of information to determine when we should lift the shut down. Problem is this POTUS is a lying narcissistic fuk who might easily push for an earlier than needed end of shut down at the cost of thousands of lives in order to boost the stock market and make his friends on wall street happy. I have no trust in Trumps judgement.
