jpy15026, “Old” member but here been away for ~5 years but I’m back : )

I joined a neighborhood Gym ` 5 years ago to get out of the house when I lost my wife of 47 years and have been away from the forums but now due to the closings I’m back.
Great to recognize all of you that are still here, and I’m enjoying reading your posts. I’m so glad I didn’t “part out” my home gym. Dusted everything off and had my first “at home” workout yesterday, what a difference from the equipment at the gym, great to get back to free weights again. Most of the equipment at the gym was plate loaded and pin select, I had great workouts but nothing like free weights! I’m paying for it today, everything hurts, what a difference change-up makes.
Some of you might recognize my “garage” gym but thought I’d post it for those who weren’t on the forums 5 years ago and might get some ideas to use yourselves.

jpy, welcome back to the community. I'm sorry to hear about your wife, much respect and with keeping strong too. I remember reading your posts way back when I was in the process of putting together my own home gym and your contributions with reviews as well.

Setup still looks solid and with these times it's good to hear some of us long time members were of the fortunate in establishing a decent lifting space and contain a wealth of knowledge these days (and through the archives searches) to help out some of the newer members who don't currently have one, nor have no commercial gym access for the time being.

Nice set-up. I switched back to my home gym a few months back. Somehow my weight plates have gotten way heavier over time.

Saweet, it's easy to spot a former member of the equipment section, solid @ss selections! Powertec rack w/pulldown, looks like the CAP 0886B, highly respected Hoist bench, BOTH Ironmaster and Powerblock db's, clean attachment storage on the wall, and affordable FG plates that didn't break the bank.

    Well done sir, reps.
