    Post Workout Supplement

    Hi all,

New to forum. For a few years, I have been taking PERFORMIX ISO 9:2:2 MultiPhase BCAA Powder, Recovery and Hydration as a post workout shake. Product worked very well in that regardless of how hard my workout was, I was kept relatively pain free/ less sore after taking it post workout.

Within the past month or so , I went to reorder on Amazon and the product is no longer available. I also checked my local GNC store and it is also not available. It appears that that product has been discontinued.

They have a "new" similar product on Amazon that does not seem to getting as good as a review. It is the Performix ISO EAA + BCAA - Branched Chain Essential Amino Acids, Essential Amino Acids, Hydration, Recovery

I have tried it as well as 2 other post workout products from GNC within the past 2 months and none seem to work, that is, I am still very sore for a few days post workout. I haven't had this level of soreness in a few years.

What do you guys suggest is a good post workout shake/powder I can use that will prevent extreme soreness like I get now.

    Thanks.

How many calories and grams of protein are you consuming each day?

    Average weekly bodyweight change?

    Specific goals?

Get your protein in for the day. Don't spend any money on bcaa.

You don't need a supplement post workout

I don't really get the idea of a specific post workout supplement. Isn't just protein the best post workout supplement?

You don't even need that. Nutrient timing isn't relevant to the vast majority of people and there is no short-term magic window that needs to be addressed.
