1. None of those frame rates are at 4k so...
2. None of those are particularly demanding titles by today's standards
So again. Look at 4k benchmarks with more demanding games and ray tracing. (Both of which will be features of next gen consoles.) The 2080Ti GREATLY outperforms a 2080 when higher resolution and ray tracing come into play.

How does a PC with a Ryzen 5 3600 compare to the Xbox Series X? That is what I have and am thinking that my PC may be good enough to resist the new Xbox.

The form bicep [sic], although common even in professional contexts, is considered incorrect. (from Wikipedia)

I’m not some super knowledgeable tech guy but I’ve been looking about analysis and found this thread of reddit. This dude named OpticalPrime35 have some pretty in depth posts.
Still reading through it but its pretty interesting.

Thoughts on this?
Audio is a gigantic hog. Upwards of 20% or more depending on just how heavy you are going with your 3D audio.
So take that 12TFlop number, which sounds nice, but remove 20% ( or more ) of that computational force and take it away from graphics compute and place it into Audio compute.
Now you have 9.6TFlops of muscle to place behind your graphics calculations and lighting and all that.
On the flip side. The GPU of the PS5 is not handling audio compute at all. So all 36CUs or whatever it is, is completely handling what it is built to handle. So the full 10.2Tflops peak is fully going toward graphic / lighting / shading / blah blah.

One of the big problems was last generation when microsoft released weaker than the ps4. Microsoft later released a much more powerful version first with the 4k one, and then with the one x, but for most of the life of the generation xbox was the weaker console.
Now it seems that sony is the one releasing weaker. Be interesting to see if this has a big impact on sales. Also interesting how long it takes for sony to release a pro version that competes with the new xbox.

Sounds like fanboy cope to me. But the only real barometer is going to be how the first next gen multiplats run in comparison between the two systems Xboner got smoked in resolution and frame rates with 20% less Terafloppers this gen.
Still find it hard to believe this is it from Sony. Because they can't be that stupid?

xbox x is legit, this isnt like last gen that used underpowered CPU's meant for tablets.
both xbox x and ps5 are using basically an underclocked 3700x.
The GPU's of both are using NAVI 2 which doesnt even come out until the fall for PC, there arent a lot of real information yet, the teraflop spec doesnt mean much but the rumors that its 2080 level are pretty legit since this is the architecture that will compete with NVIDIAs 3000 series of GPU also not out yet.
I just bought a 3600 chip myself. My take is to wait and see once the next gen games start coming out and I will probably upgrade to the 4000 series CPU in a year or so when they are out and discounted. It will take some time for the next gen games to arrive but they should be able to fully take advantage of 8 core CPU's, nvme SSD and raytracing/next gen GPUs.

I think there will definitely be a cycle of "pro" versions of the consoles.
I also dont think the differences will be that drastic. xbox one x is better spec wise over the ps4 pro in everyway but that doesnt mean Im going to rebuy my entire digital library for the other platform for a 5% difference in image quality. I think it will be the same with next gen with them having backwards compatibility.
Sony still hasnt shown their physical console. The dev kit is ugly as sin. The xbox was designed very well, it shouldnt get that loud with the single huge fan it has, it looks very reliable and sturdy. I was surprised it could hit 3.8ghz on all cores constantly. Sony is using the same chip, theirs is clocked lower, that means they dont have as good cooling solution.

Series X also has a dedicated audio chip for 3D audio. I'd like to know why he thinks the Series X will use the GPU for sound when it has a dedicated audio card but the PS5 won't when they are configured the exact same.
The PS5 reddit is massive levels of cope and salt right now.
The raytracing on Sexbox also completely rips the PS5 to shreds, 44% more CU's to work on raytracing. It's why Mark Cerny was always saying "developers can use it if they want, but we're not forcing them to use the new technology". You fukhead, what's the point of new technology and a new generation if you don't want developers to use the new tech you dipchit. Massive levels of cope from Mark Cerny during yesterday's broadcast. 'cause he knows the Sexbox rips the PS5 to shreds in every metric except SSD.
Sony blew their load into the new SSD's which aren't even available to consumers right now so RIP anyone wanting to buy one, they'll be pricey AF. Literally the only advantage the PS5 has is slightly shorter load times. Dumbfuk copers on reddit thinking the PS5 will somehow get performance advantages from an SSD other than load times.
Every stat that Sony has published about the PS5 they use variable frequency and then use the most overclocked one they have to show the highest number, while Microsoft has been using constant freqeuncy, ie. not OC'd. Bitch move from Sony to inflate their pathetic stats.Last edited by JPeeper; 03-19-2020 at 09:46 AM.
