Dow and s&p down 24 and 22% from highs at close.

Not sure whether to buy more or hope for a dip. Really happy with my buys on indexs and amazon all last week and Monday but I honestly thought we were going lower so left a lot of cash on the sideline. Stupid. Freakin 18k dow of course we were going to pop.

    Obviously always easier in hindsight

He's just playing another hand. You have governors who are on the shut everything down, no end game, panic-esque speeches, not providing a path to closure or how we get out of this at least, and screeching about deaths and staying inside.

Trump is just playing the opposite and trying to give people a plan.

Which is what a leader should do. Looking at the sharp *incline* in approval ratings lately, seems like a lot of americans at least appreciate what he's doing, whether they agree or not.
I was on board with his intial plans, which then got watered down by the Senate and house. Now him saying that we'll be back to work by Easter isn't just stupid it's dangerous. Cuomo ringing the panic bell is the right move, they are facing a serious crisis there with roughly 10k new cases a day and the hospitals are already at capacity. What did you expect him to do say things are fine and by Easter this will all go away?

A real leader deals with the reality of the situation and takes the advice of people who are far smarter than them.

I think he wants sections of the country that are in more rural areas, businesses that can practice social distancing, and younger workers to step up and get back to work...He isnt calling for everyone to do that from what Ive heard. You cant halt all business for such a long time, thats just crazy

Were down 24% man. Excellent plan for going long. You honestly couldn't of asked for a better time besides last week in the past 3 years.

I dont know about the 3 stocks you picked however. I think you would be better off with some vanguard stuff honestly or companies that arent going away regardless of what happens.

if youre looking for a set it and forget it, sure. But if thats the plan, it might be smart to hang tight and watch the market over the next week or 2. We're only on week 2 of lock down, and we already have people saying we'll be good to back to normal soon, meanwhile the number of cases and deaths is increasing daily, unemployment has only reflected one weeks worth of applications and already yielded a historical amount, and we don't even know what the stimulus package entails and how/if it will save businesses.

Can't remember the fella that said this earlier on cnbc, but he said that even if we can save every business and individual, financially, all of this will have been worthless if we don't solve the actual problem itself. He's completely right. I have a bad bad feeling that this package will have been a colossal failure if we jump back to normalcy too quickly, and the virus continues to spread...

Rip Amazon if so. Seems unlikely it will happen but who knows at this point. Mail seems to be too critical right now for deliveries and such.

    You answered your own question.

Bought some vti today and tomorrow is pay day, so it’s some more vti for good measure.

Yeah, I wish I would have learned a lot more prior to this all happening. I don't know any of the strategies like "buying puts or calls" have no idea what that means lol

So I'm prob better off playing it safe with the VOO investments. haha But a question for you since you have a lot into VOO. What's the best plan for me going forward? How often do you put money into it? I'm guessing I should put 500 or as much as I can into it every chance I get no matter if it's up or down for long term success?

Any suggestions on which vanguard? Right now I have VTI and BND which seems to have done good since I deposited and forgot years ago. I think BND has been giving dividends.

Absolutely. Barring a breakthrough treatment there’s a ton of room to go down.

3 Green Day’s and everyone has FOMO already.

I think S&P will be closer to 2k or below within 2-4 weeks.

A medical breakthrough is absolutely possible but the metro areas, where the majority of our GDP comes from, are gonna be completely fuked for a bit.

I hope I’m wrong, but I’m sure as hell not buying for long term right now.

Before anything else I’d like to say that many, many others in this thread are much smarter than I and may have a better response to your question.

So what I’ve been doing is this:

    * I save $ money weekly in a general savings account.

    * Once that account gets to $3k-$8k (less than a month - 2 months) I start looking for a down day/a day I think will be a “cheap buy”.

    * I make the buy (and normally watch chit drop like 5 minutes later lol)

    * Go back to work like a slave to repeat ASAP.

$500 at a time does not excite me I guess or maybe I think it’s a waste of time because you can buy max two shares at a time. I like to buy the biggest “chunk” I can at a time. I also pay $4.95 each time I buy so I suppose I don’t like to pay that anymore than I have to also.

Currently I think you would be smart to make every buy you can even if it is only one or two shares at a time. Again this is all just what I do and I’d be curious to hear from the experts

All good stuff but that $4.95 killed me. Bro switch to any other platform. its free virtually everywhere now as many trades as you want forever. Highly suggest charles schwab

Thanks brah appreciate it. I have prob 5k left I could pull over and put into it. But still have in the back of my mind we could have another big drop and could have some no brainer trades pop up like BA. So I’m thinking I might wait a couple weeks just to see if anything crazy happens before throwing my remaining bucks into it. My luck it’ll jump back up to 300 and I will miss buying in while it’s low lol
