Won't matter at all. The only thing that really makes an impact and gets remembered is the news that gets out first. The correction will barely be considered, especially as there's an entire weekend to forget about it.

Lol at them going full CCP with the fake economic numbers though.

I've put in about 17 thousand and my overall portfolio is around 67 thousand. Started 3 years ago just putting in what I could at the time with buy and hold as the strategy. This year I started trading options and moving things around a lot more and almost all my returns are from this year(although those years I was buying into tesla anywhere from 180-400). My income has also gone up substantially since then so it's tempting to put more in but as of now the plan is to get a house and then some investment properties with that money.

Roughly $38k since start of lockdown. $32k was on three stocks, so luck & good timing definitely played a part but I went in heaviest on those three.

A lot of it was covid stocks, so is a unique situation.

Still very much a beginner but stick to an area I know. Probably a lot of investment will move away from biotechs now.

    Called two of them here:

Yeah I can't comment too much on Ameribrah companies, my focus is specifically on Canadian oil and then some higher-level dynamics between the major producers

Oil demand is forecasted to peak closer to 2050 and I don't see that changing much tbh. Highly developed countries will continue moving towards electric vehicles -- although there are still many feasibility and timeline questions around the infrastructure upgrades required to handle large-scale adoption -- but there are entire chunks of the world (with massive populations) that are nowhere near that point and are still gearing up for mass adoption of combustion vehicles. And upgrading their infrastructure opens up a whole other can o' worms.

Fossil fuels aren't going anywhere for a long time, I think we'll be lucky to see truly significant progress within our lifetimes. But I need to be a bit bullish since this industry provides my income, so take that into consideration when weighing that ^^ insight

I wouldn't believe any miscers saying they made 100K+ trading. Most people here are likely dealing with smaller sums of money. (Sub 100K)

From what I've been told investment accounts really start to take off once you reach 500K in the market.

I had automatic contributions going into mutual funds and moved accounts over the years so not entirely sure how much I made off those, would need to do a lot of digging and it ain't worthwhile, but following are my gains since the pandemic hit:

+$22k since the middle of March. Not selling these anytime soon, CNQ and CVE will still go way up. And could've made a lot more if I had more funds available in March, shouldn't have thrown $15k at my car loan

Car loans are low interest never pay those off outright

22k is a lot of money. Still holding my CNQ as well I think I’m in at 14 or so

This one was like 4.99% (used vehicle). Normally wouldn't have gone for it but had the cash sitting around and definitely didn't see this market drop coming!

Yeah that interest rate is a little high

I have 24k in student loans at like 5.6% and 6% which annoy me. I’m thinking if I strike gold on my mgm options I’ll take out the money and pay them off in one hit.

Is the interest tax deductible on them?

I have $12k sitting against those and the interest just stopped being tax deductible this year but it’s still a low enough rate to not pay too much attention to, unless our Fed decides to jack up the prime

Does Hertz have anything left? I’m not confident it does.

MFA looks like it has some left. I might jump on that train short term.

Not tax deductible. Wife and I are beyond the limit. She is a Pharm D and has paid $1600/month for last 10 years never being able to deduct interest. 5 months left and her loan is gone.

Ooohhh interesting, whether or not it’s tax deductible is based on income in the US? But then if you’re under the income thresholds, there’s no time limit on it right

Student loan interest is tax deductible regardless of income in Canada but only to a max of five years. Always interesting to see the differences in how our countries handle this stuff

Yeesh that’s some insane student loans breh, will feel awesome to clear that off

No idea brah. I usually only look a few weeks out. Any particular ticker?

I would say look at the 5 year chart and the weekly candles. Nobody knows where oil prices will be next summer, they were just negative not long ago.

I do have CLR calls open going into Monday so hopefully those gap up. A few oil stocks I like next week. Just saw a whole bunch of setups I like. I’ll post them Sunday.

Nah. According to the 100 year trendline, we're hitting resistance and making a death cross with the 100 day moving average. If we don't close above 30k on the Dow on Monday, I'm targeting a retest of the 20k mark in 2 weeks before we start the slingshot all the way to 40k by 2022. Fundamentals don't matter - look to the capital flows from foreign investors and the spread between the Dow and the S&P 500.

Yeesh that’s some insane student loans breh, will feel awesome to clear that off
If your modified adjusted gross income is above like $80k, you can’t deduct student loan interest in the US. I guess I’ll take it, it’s hard to complain when you’re making $80k and people are sunk with six figures of debt and no job.

Well why did they take six figures of debt for a ****ty degree? I just don’t understand how someone can accrue that much debt and their degree not be super marketable. In Florida the state universities are dirt cheap, 4 year degree only costs $21,600.

Modified adjusted gross income is probably like factoring your income based on local cost of living right

Energy will surely be going up on news that OPEC+ is extending cuts and talk about Shale production cuts / shut-ins being too much too fast, possibly leading to a minor near-term supply shock

Could be headed to $60+ oil later this year, at least until Shale opens up the floodgates again

Not for the overall market. Higher prices driven by a supply shock will buoy up companies that already had their finances in order to survive a downturn, which is most of the producers with big market caps. And the producers who survived will be looking to increase production again, which means more revenue

If that’s what you’re referring to anyways

I dumped 75% of my fmci too on friday (think I have 400 or 500 shares now) for a profit to free up more for my Xspa position. I'm sitting at like 80% cash right now not sure what I'm gonna do Monday I'm basically out of data on my phone so penny stocking will be tough next week for me. Kinda hoping that one of my knowns goes up so I don't have to look much, would love xspa to make a move Monday AM so I could jump in and out again for a quick couple thousand.
