Why do people buy stuff at IPO srs.

Wherever it opens, it's already 50-100% higher than what the crooks bought it for. why not wait a while for more price action

Snowflake was grabable at 240 and ran up to like 340 in the morning. Yeah they're inflated but also scalpable due to volatility.

XOM is about to cut their dividend so not recommending XOM.

COP, CVX have strong balance sheets and cash reserves to cover dividends for quite a while, SPHD or QYLD are good too but buying COP/CVX has added benefit of their price being low now, the underlying stock will increase over the next few years.

Yeah but what I'm saying if u buy the IPO open there, do you hold all the way till now? Or did you get dumped by the 2nd day

High was 320 and then dropped 100 pts. Not sure that's a great example of an IPO open buy going well.

Like if everybody just wait a couple days in both of these names then wouldn't you have a better entry or at least some reference point. I'm just saying buying IPO open seems suspect.

XOM could be a good long-term buy after people vacate following a dividend cut. Wait for the cut and for people to sell, scoop it up at a lower price, and then hold until oil prices recover. And oil prices will recover, IMO its looking more and more likely that we might even see another big price spike with the way supply is being crushed and how Euro companies like BP and Shell are acting

How is buying at 240 and dropping it at 300 not "going well" for someone? If you buy on IPO day its for a scalp and quick in and out, just because thats not your game doesn't mean its not profitable

    .

With IPO that has good merit, I would buy and hold for 6 months plus.

Unless it doubles before that and than I take profit.

Same think what I did with RKT. Bought at $19 and plan on holding deep into next year or unless its $35 in few months.

I am very bullish about Unity. Their graphics engine is direct rival to Unreal Engine. Both are huge in gaming market.

And we know that mobile gaming/consoles/pc etc is never going away.

Problem its now Unity is $95 and no idea how much room is there for it to continue going.

You had ~1 min to get into that trade and have to exit exactly ~5mins later to make that exact trade you just described. This all happened within the first 10mins and you literally have no data to look back on. If you can execute like that then good for you.

But yes, buying low and selling high is profitable.

So set a market buy that fills immediately at open and then monitor your account. Thats pretty much exactly what scalpers and day traders do. I don't have the capital free to be scalping 240 dollar stocks but if you look into my post history on here I do it quite often with SPACs.

There isn't much catalyst for it going up at this point, but if the NASDAQ continues to recover, so will Tesla. No reason to sell for a loss in my opinion.

New sexual harassment allegations against Trevor Milton, almost guaranteed GM drops out of their deal. Has there ever been a more perfect short target?

In b4 robinhood props it back up to 50 bucks.

I have no idea how the stock market works, I just applied for an account with Robinhood and just got options trading. Where’s the best place to learn to how to be smart with investing money in stocks? What are options?

Let’s say I have a single share of Tesla. I bought at $424, it’s currently at $420. Is there a way I can set up Robinhood to sell it if it reaches a certain threshold, say, $440?

My best recommendation is to not ask this question. Ultimately nobody knows what’s going to happen. You should invest in companies you think will be successful, you also should do you dd (do diligence) (your own research) then invest in what you come up with. Learn and grow.

It’s not easy, be patient, don’t get fomo. If everyone is talking about it and buying it you’re already to late. Get the next one.

I would suggest staying away from options until you have a solid understanding of things.

Yes set a limit sell order for 440 and it will fill when the BID is 440 not necessarily when the stock is 440.

Any idea when Apple will unveil the new iPhone? I've had my X since I pre-ordered it back in October 2017 and want to see what the new one will be like.

Find an area of the economy you understand (tech, travel, retail etc) and then do some research within that subsect.

I've got tunnel vision. I've been loading up on CNQ and I plan to continue. I know there's probably better buys out there and definitely better sectors but dat dere dividend history gives me a boner.
