My Dad just replaced his minivan with a new one today, he's not sure if the dealer made much of any profit on it either. It was the 4th vehicle we've bought from then since he bought the van he traded and they do the majority of the maintenance on the vehicles we've bought from them as well as have bought parts from them for other vehicles. Between the virus and the loyalty plus Dad being exceptionally friendly and and acting like an actual human vs being a cranky, demanding ******* (don't worry, he knows better anyway), they went over the top to work with him!

I’m 300 yards from main dealers for Bentley, Aston Martin, McLaren, Porsche, plus Lamborghini and Range Rover franchises. I can’t see any of them selling a single car for months. I think I’d be pleasantly surprised what £50k cash got me right now..

beyond the few car companies offering no interest deals/deferred payment plans, i'm not really seeing any amazing deals on new cars. to be honest, I don't buy new cars, but i'm curious since my mom's benz lease expires this month and i've been on the lookout for a great replacement deal.

and despite reading that so many people are selling off assets, I'm really not seeing that reflected in the used car market. in fact, i'd say the used car market is lighter than usual for SoCal.

I don't know what it means yet and I don't even think they know. Their hands are tied until they get guidance from the brand.

I’m in England, gas is $9 a gallon.. got import duty, shipping, vat, conversion etc so that 28k is going to be 40 plus by the time I get it here. Just want the base model v8, new as depreciation seems incredibly low..

The RT's actually don't hold value well, at least here in the states. The 6.4 models do. Used 2-3 year old models are only 3-4k less than brand new 6.4's unless you option out.

I can get a 2019 RT with under 10k miles for 21-24k. New they're 34-36k starting.

Idk, i'm just saying if you're spending that much, can you spend a bit more and get the 6.4. Almost everyone who i talked to that has gotten an RT, drove one, or was thinking about getting one, almost all the time regretted it once they got to drive or ride in a 6.4 car. It's totally different.

Well in the US, someone would buy it for $28k (probably lower if they haggle a bit) and then spend another $2-3k on taxes and other fees. So total out the door is like $30k to own that car. However, if you buy it and then import it to the UK you won't have to pay state tax so you can get it for $28k. Then the other fees will come from shipping it over and then paying your UK taxes or whatever.

Yes I think the dodge is the best bang for buck for sure. I actually like the chargers and hellcat as well, I'ma def test everything out prior to pulling the trigger on anything

The mclaren dealer alone has at least 60 cars on the forecourt rotting. They’re not my cup of tea anyway, but let’s say they start at £200k and I walk in with half that..what choice do they have? My bet would be he’ll spend a day making phone calls with head office and they’ll sign me up to a NDA. They have cash to pay the bills and one less car rotting.

And I can guarantee if you walk into a mclaren dealer, they will laugh your broke ass out of the door thinking you’re getting close to 50% off.

A person with a 450 credit score isn't getting a 84 month term at 0%.

Especially with the refresh for the challenger/charger coming in 2 years or so. If you're going to drop 30-40k+ on an FCA product, make sure you're getting the 6.4 or just get a hellcat.

Even if you tell them, "yeah i checked my score and it's 708", they're still going to run your credit obviously. So i would at least print out the report and present it to them in case they try to phuck you by saying, yeah your credit is good, it just didn't qualify for 0%.

At the end of the day, these dealers still need to profit. So the 0% advertisement because of the pandemic is probably 50% of luring you to get the car, thinking you already qualified for 0%.

It’s now $1500 less than that.. anyway it’s more like 40k by the time I get it to the uk, which is getting a nad pricey for a toy.

Given the depreciation is so low, I’m thinking new is the way to go. I really don’t want one that’s been redlined by some hick
